can anyone tell me if there is a seaworld in ohio or is it closed

Sea World Ohio was bought....I can't remember the new name....I think Geagua Lakes bought it, and now they have some other kind of Aqua park there. They have some of the same types of exhibits, but it's definitely not Sea World anymore.

I thought it was bought by Six flags but I know it was bought by someone.

Guena Lake was purchased by Six Flags and then 2 years ago they purchased Seaworld and combined the two parks into a single gate park. It is now Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.

When we were thinking of going to SW Ohio I was surprised to find out it is not there anymore. It was bought out by Six Flags and of course Sea World took all of their animals. From what I had read it did not sound like it would be worthwhile for us to drive and see it.

I just got back from Six Flags World of Adventure two weeks ago.

I remember it being Sea World, and Geauga Lake. We used to live in that area from 1993-1997.

The Seaworld area, is in some ways still very Seaworld.. some of the exhibits are the same, the landscaping the same, and the footpaths, stores, shops, and some structures were EXACTLY as they left it... in fact we found a storefront that still said Shamu's Fudge on it.. just two weeks ago! (I guess they have to replace that , oops!) They have a Sea Lion show.. (hmm..sounds like Sea World), they still have the Shamu's Happy Harbor structure up...
they also have the stadium, and other things that were there when we were Sea World Ohio season pass holders... There was a smallish (17 foot) baby Shamu like whale.. plus penguins, flamingos, sea lions, seals, ducks, plus the Shark encounter area is still there...

Unfortunately, some of it has declined.. in particular the penguin area, sea lion area. The moving sidewalks are of course turned off, and the penguin glass is all black/filthy... with just the lack of charm..

That is considered the Wildlife side.. the Wild Rides Side, was where Geauga Lake used to be... (picture Epcot World Showcase surrounded by a big lake). Some of the structures are the same when Geauga was there.. ie.. the observation tower, a few rides, and I think one coaster.. the rest is not that good..
It is new, but just not the same... if that makes any sense.

I left feeling saddened and discouraged... maybe because what I expected wasn't there.

our family had season passes every year until they changed over. we went practically every day! it is so sad that now they are going to be demolishing everything there to put in a water park! so many memories there!
