Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as lines for Journey to Atlantis next Wednesday? I'd love to get in a quick ride before the 10:30 Dolphin show (park opens at 10). If I don't make it early in the day, how bad do lines get in the afternoon? Also, is this something my relatively-fit grandpa could handle? I'm almost 25, if that gives you a better guess of my grandpa's age. Thanks.

I've never been to SW during the middle of the week, but I'd still suggest to ride as soon as you get there in the morning. The lines for the ride usually get long, but of course, I've never been during the week. And for your GP, if he can handle going down steep slopes like in Splash Mt. and likes roller coasters, then he should be able to handle the ride.

Thanks! Should I expect it to be particularly crowded next week? I'm hoping that going on a weekday while school is in session will help. Last trip I went on a Saturday in August and it was pretty well mobbed.

The line generally is not that bad. On a busy weekend sunny afternoon it might hit 30 minutes. Usually its around 15 minutes. Early morning or after dark there is almost no line at all.

Shipwreck Rapids can easily have a 1 hour line mid afternoon. Again, late night zero line. Just wear a poncho and not worry about getting a little wet after dark for either ride!

We were just there last Tuesday (June 2) and the ride didn't open until 11:00am, just so you know. We ended up going on it at about 2:00pm and the line was maybe 15 minutes if that. It was never very busy. The park was also not busy. We went back on Friday and that day the ride was open at 10:00am, never went on it so I don't know about the line up but for Shipwreck was 30 minutes or more in the middle of the day.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I'm not planning to go on Shipwreck (been on plenty of rides like that, so not worth the soaking or the possibility of going on w/o grandpa) but if I can sneak onto Atlantis without much of a wait that'd be nice- never been on one like that before!

Journey To Atlantis is a lot of fun and not scary (to me!). It's a fun ride that starts out as a typical log flume type ride with a traditional chain lift to the top. After that it becomes a small roller coaster. Whats unique is an elevator that takes your car up to the top of the coaster rather than a traditional lift.

We thought is was a great ride but a word of warning, we wore rain jackets but forgot about our legs- my daughter was in the front and she got a soaking equivalent to sitting fully clothed in a bathtub! Not comfortable at all!!!!
