Sea world help!!!

Cruising on the fantasy in September and we'll be Driving from Tennessee to Florida. We want to come down early to go to sea world, we have NEVER been!! Were not big on theme park rides (just my DH & I) but absolutely love sea life and animals! We will only be able to spend one day at the park So what kind of pass do I need to be able to see the animals and stuff? Are there certain animal attractions that cost extra to go in see? Are there other places to buy discounted tickets? Any information would be helpful because at this point I know nothing! There's a lot online but it's just become overwhelming, and a bit confusing so I hope I can find help here. Also can anyone suggest a hotel close by with a reasonable rate? Not looking for anything fancy as we'll only be there for about 12 hours or so!

There are some "private" tours that cost extra, and you can buy food for the dolphins and mantas, but pretty much everything is included in the ticket price.

Undercover Tourist sells tickets at a pretty good discount.

There are ten million hotels in the area (possible slight exaggeration!) - there's good, bad, and in between. I would suggest settling on a price category and looking at reviews on TripAdvisor, and then checking someplace like Hotwire for discounts. I do Priceline pretty much everywhere else, but their categorization of the Orlando hotels seems to have been accomplished while on recreational chemicals.
