Sea World & ECV

Has anyone here been to Sea World using an ECV/wheelchair/etc.? We are thinking of going to Sea World on our next trip. We've never been there. Any do's, don'ts, suggestions, etc. for getting around Sea World? Any thoughts would be appreciated? Also, does anyone have a Sea World park guide? I asked on the Sea World board, but no luck. THANK YOU!!

I did Sea World last October in my wheelchair. It was wonderful!!! Very easy to get around.
The Park was just beautiful. They had plenty of handi-seating at the shows and several attractions had moving platforms that was very easy for the wheelchair to get on and off of. This was our favorite Park (next to MK of course)!!! If you have any specific questions, please let me know. I'll look around to see if I still have our Park guide.

IMHO, Seaworld is the easiest of all the parks to get around in a wheelchr or ECV. This may be in part due to the smaller crowds there, but it seems to me that whoever did the planning did a great job!!

I am on vacation right now in San Diego, CA, we went to Sea World here today. Everything seems fairly accessible... the only thing I noticed that might be a problem here is that the wheelchair/ECV/ accessible seating areas in a couple of the shows were in the Soak Zone.... They are way off to the side, near the front, so you don't get a front/center view. I have not been to SW in Orlando, they may have designed it differently there. If you were coming here, I would advise you to bring a poncho or 2. Those killer whales and pilot whales really splash a significant amount of water - I saw people 4 rows up get soaked through and through.

Teri, I am sitting here laughing at your comments about getting wet ! I am able to get out of the ECV & walk to another seating area (stairs are sometimes a problem though) like at the Lion King show at AKL. Thanks for sharing yoru observations - hope you continue to have a nice vacation!

The one we went to was in Orlando and Teri's right about the splash zone.
We weren't in it for the big Shamu shows but we were in the splash zone for the Dolphin show (both handi-sections). It wasn't too bad at all. We barely got wet
I still need to look for the guide book. Sorry, it slipped my mind.

I'm glad some other people answered because the last time we were to Sea World in Orlando was a long time ago.
It was really easy to get around, but I also remember the splash zones.

The other thing I remember was that it seemed very humid there, which made it seem hotter (probably from all that water splashing around). So I wopuld probably look at the weather forecasts to pick out the least humid or coolest day there, if possible.

I FOUND IT!!! It took awhile but I did locate the SeaWorld Park Guide. It's basically the layout of the park, times of the shows, and it does have symbols whether or not you would have to transfer from a wheelchair to go on a ride. If you pm me your address, I'd be happy to mail it to you. Sea World was wonderful. Looking at all our vacation pictures really gave me the bug to go back!!!
