Considering taking my 3 and 5 year old on the dolphin encounter at Sea world. I would love any reviews and if it is worth the money. thanks

At SeaWorld they have the dolphin feeding. Which is pretty cool as you get to throw fish at the dolphins and they come up close to the sides. But you also don't have to pay for the food and just go around to the far side and they'll still come to you. They would probably enjoy that.

At Discovery Cove they have the actual Dolphin Interaction which is where you're in the water with them, learning about them and then do a dorsal pull where they pull you through the water. Unfortunately they would both be too young for that. And it is a separate admission from SeaWorld.

There is also the Dolphin Up Close Tour that happens 1-3 times a day.

You start out at the Dolphin Nursery. You get to watch the trainers feed the dolphins up there; and get to help throw a couple of fish in as apart of their scatter feed.

Then you walk down to Dolphin Cove, and you get to participate in a training session. They typically split you up with your family to go with a trainer and a group of 2 or 3 dolphins. Here you'll get to do some of the hand signals with the dolphins, touch the dolphins, and youll learn about them too.

Just wondering if anybody knows the cost of feeding the dolphins? My hubby and I are headed there in March:cool1:

As PP said, it is $7 per tray. In order to enter the feeding area, each person going in has to buy at least one tray. So, in essence it is $7 per person, and everyone will get a tray of food to feed the dolphins. You can buy extras ($7 each) when you pay for your first one if you want more than one tray.

Just back from doing the Dolphin Feeding with a 3 and 5 year old and they were terrified. It was a waste of money for us. The 3 year old would not get out of the stroller to even watch, and the 5 year old was scared of the 100's of swooping birds that were literally grabbing fish from our hands, and batting us in the head with their wings. I wouldn't do this with small children again. This was just my experience though!
