We were also on the Wonder and was very sad we could not dock at Castaway Cay. We did not planned a lot to do the day before just a little shopping. But we had everything planned for Castaway Cay. Hearts were broken as we watched the 2 attempts to dock. We will book the 4 night from now on. That way maybe we will have two chances to port. Other than the missed port we had the best time of our lives. It have been about 2 weeks since we left the ship and we still miss it and wish we were in the staterooms getting ready for dinner. The kids ( 9 & 12 ) had a great time. They did not spend much time at the clubs but they meet some new friends at the poolsand they hung out and did stuff together. We also have a 2 year old and he had a wonderful time on "His Big Boat". He is still talking about the "Big Boat". He loved it even though he was stuck with mom and dad! The ship can and will make you feel like a kid again. I could never say enough about our wonderful cruise. I do wish everyone could go and feel the magic of the Wonder.

*I do have a question, how long does it take Disney to contact you about the Castaway Club and do they make you any kind of offer for your next cruise?

I was unable to talk with the TA on the ship the line were endless and it seem they were also saying sorry we are not letting anyone else get in line.

We are really looking forward to booking our next cruise!

Sorry you couldn't dock at Castaway Cay, once in awhile that happens, but much less with DCL than with most other cruise lines.

The Castaway Cay Club hasn't been very prompt with mailings lately and they were in the process of changing the company that handles the mailings, not sure if that's happened yet or not.

What I've heard most often is that DCL has been giving the CC number to you when you call them and inquire about it. They can give you your membership number over the phone.

The bad news is that they haven't been giving any discounts or offers to anyone, except when you are actually on the cruise and discussing it with a CM onboard. That's the only way they've been offering the shipboard credit for return cruisers, if you actually book another cruise onboard. The prices offered have been the same as the Early Booking Savings except in very rare cases that were offered months ago.

Your best option now is to book as early as possible and watch for a special offer, which also has been very rare these days. If they do have a special offer, you can ask to have your cruise repriced to the lower amount.

hope that helps

It's too bad you were disappointed in not being able to go to Castaway Cay. But if it was going to be the high point of the cruise, I would suggest doing something other than a Disney cruise.

We've been on 3 cruises (1 Wonder, 2 Magic) and Castaway Cay has always been our least favorite day. The staff is rude, transportation is poor, access is incredibly restricted, and the quality and variety of activities is quite limited.

I wonder why DCL even bothers with Castaway Cay. It's obvious that the crew hates it, and it seems as though the company goes out of its way to avoid letting you actually have any fun on the island. The sad thing is, it would be incredibly easy to fix, but I have seen absolutely no improvement in the last three years.

tinbubbles,

I'm sorry you were so disappointed in Castaway Cay. It has always been a hightlight of our trips (of our three trips we were able to dock at Castaway Cay twice).

In fact we like it so much that is one of the reasons we booked the DVC member cruise - they go to Castaway Cay twice.

I've done parasailing, my DH did the snorkeling, my in-laws did the bike riding. Most of all we just enjoyed floating in the water and sitting under our umbrealla reading a good book. To me Castaway Cay is paradise.

Guess that what is make the world go round - we all like different things.
