Sea roughness comparison question

We are doing Vancouver to Hawaii Cruise next April, can anyone tell me what the seas will typically be like. I don’t get seasick but my other half does poor thing. Can’t wait.
NORTHPAC in april can kick up a bit, but on the Wonder, it should be just gentle rolls. The advantage of the open ocean transit from Vancouver to Hawaii is that you'll primarily experience swells (measured even waves in a cyclical manner) as opposed to cross seas (usually in-shore and smaller, more confined areas like the western Med). You should be fine barring a storm.

I find the slow back and forth gets me the most sea sick and take Dramamine but when we had rougher seas as pictured below showing the family pool splashing really high out of the pool I felt fine. My body was able to handle the bigger rocking then the smaller rocking.

This was the Nov 3rd 7night sailing from NY last year with the day at WDW stop. Took a screen shot from my video. We had strong winds on the way up the coast back to NY on one of our sea days.

We went on a Alaska Cruise this summer and it was really smooth. We also went on a Caribbean one in the spring and that was pretty smooth too. The last night, around midnight, it got a tad choppy. I took a bonine, just in case because I was up late packing. Everyone else slept through it just fine. When I asked the crew about it, they didn’t even know what I was talking about. I guess they are used to it. Definitely use bonine because it seems like your family gets bothered by the seasickness.

It really depends on the cruise. Alaska was rough for us too and I have heard several other people say that it is rough so that could just be that itinerary. The smoothest cruise we have been on has probably been the Mediterranean.

I think it really does depend on the winds and weather, not just the location. Alaska was the smoothest cruise we have ever taken. So smooth I didn't replace my patch (the one I always need). Yet friends have had rough sailings there.

We had a rough night sailing from one city in Norway to another, and I felt pretty seasick even with the patch, but I went to bed and in the morning it was smooth sailing. Even some of the crew (including our MDR server) didn't feel good that night.

I was vomiting galore on the sea day of our alaska cruise—that water is rough! On the dream on DCL I felt awful when our room was far forward but great midship. The bermuda cruises are great because you are on land a lot. Do a back to back on the dream and u will only have one sea day.
