Sea Raycers

Hi all. My second post, and I must say this forum is incredible. I feel like I've been to the park 25 times just from the information I've learned here. Anyways, on to the question...

I'm going to Disney World in July of this year. I'll be a "ConventionEar" as I'm going under the group rate from my mom's job. Is there a way for me to get this Buy 60 get 30 discount too? I've already booked my room, and will be purchasing theme park tickets in the coming weeks. I don't think we're eligible for one of those full packages (stay, dine, play) because of the group room rate. Nowhere in our special group website did I see any of this mentioned. I figured I'd ask here first before trying to call down there and ask.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

10% discount for AP holders.

Only way to obtainthe Sea Raycer voucher is by booking your room through Disney Travel. Groups are not eligible.

I don't think so. I think it was part of the Magic Your Way package and as such you would have to book that package. Sorry. DS12 loved the searaycer and drove by himself. We rented at DTD it was a lot of fun.

Anybody know if you must use your sea racer voucher from your MYW package during that trip or can it be used in another trip. I guess what I am asking is do the vouchers expire?

Probably a silly question here...I was thinking of taking my 2yr old on with me but Im scared he will stand up and jump over the side..are there seatbelts to keep you in?

My DS14 wants to drive a SeaRaycer by himself so I know we can't do it at Poly, GF, CR, WL or FW.

What is the next best place to rent them. I'm thinking in terms of availability, ease of getting to the location, and boating area. We're staying at POP.

Also, should I make reservations? How do you do that?

I cant wait we are renting sea raycer next month on the day of our anniversary after ordering breakfast from room service, after the sea raycer we will lounge by the pool, with some cocktails and have lunch at Capt Cooks, dinner is at Narcosee that night..I cant wait!

Is it possible to fit two small children with an adult? I'm trying to figure out how our whole family could go out on seven seas lagoon at one time. :confused3

Is DTD a good place to rent Sea Rayers?

Does anyone recall where the fastest ones are located?
The fastest boats are at the Polynesian, GF, Contemporary, FW, and Wilderness Lodge resorts. They can reach up to 23mph, but typically average between 15-20mph depending on the load weight. Boats at all other resorts average 5-7mph.

Resurrecting an old thread to ask a question about this very informative post back on page 3.

Can anyone confirm these speeds? 15-20 versus 5-7 is a huge difference. We're already renting at the Poly (and have done so many times), but thought it might be fun to also rent at POR for a change of scenery. Naturally I'd expect to have to go slow along the rivers anyway, but was hoping to open up some speed once we got to DTD. It doesn't sound like that's really possible at all. Can anyone verify?

Also, does anyone know what hours the Sea Raycers are available in October? Can we stay out as late as 5:00 PM from POR? Can we start riding as early as 10 at the Poly?

Thanks for any tips!

Im surprised to see how many people posting that these are fun! I am a jetskier (4 - 5 times per year), mostly in the ocean and these seem like tricycles for a professional cyclist. They are SO SLOW. Even my teens, who jetski often, got off after 20 minutes. They said it was "lame".

If youre up for adventure in the water, I suggest going to Sammy Duvalls at the Contemporary. They have real jetskis (though still in a lake..no waves) and wakeboarding. They also have parasailing. Its only a 10 - 12 minute flight, but youre up over the whole "world"..magnificent view. I highly recommend.

Not everyone is brave like you!:goodvibes
I went on a jetski in Castaway Cay and had a panic attack! This seems like more fun to me... just my speed! I've always wanted to try these but never had the time. This trip we plan to take it easy and I may find some time to do this, if they are open in December. Does anyone know if they are open during this time of year or are they seasonal?
