We got this voucher for the sea raycers and I am unsure about this. We did not do this last time and might or might not this time. First of all how much does it cost and second is it worth it and third what is the weather like at WDW in December for this sort of water activity?:confused3

I found this on the AllEars site...
Prices for the Marina and Recreation as of February 2008 (subject to change, other restrictions may apply)

Sea Ray Sea Racer - $30 per 30 minutes; $40 for 45 minutes; $45 for 60 minutes. Driver must be at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall. Two person maximum, 320 pound maximum.

We've done them out of the Ft. Wilderness marina and enjoyed them very much. You can buzz around both Bay Lake and the Seven Seas lagoon, and you get some really neat views of the MK resorts.

As for weather in Dec....
It can be all over the map. Everything from 80s and humid to dry and 60s/70s. We typically go in early Dec., and if you pick a sunny, not-too-breezy day, you should be just fine. If it's a bit cool, just wear a jacket.

Have fun! :drive:

Would not a jacket get soaked? These are like waverunners right? The stand up things like they use in BabeWatch the TV show?

My DS and DH went on them and thought they were kind of boring. They thought they were slow. For the money they said they would not go on them again.:confused3 FWIW

Your weight is important in these boats. They have an advertised max weight of something like 250 or so. My daughter and I took one out in August. I'm right around 230, and shes a bit north of 120. I didn't have a clue that we were too heavy, and no one said anything to us. We started tooling around, and I noticed that even at full throttle, it wasn't going very quick, and the nose was sitting pretty low in the water. Then I noticed that other Sea Raycers were zipping by us, that is when I noticed the sticker warning of the weight limit. I suspect that if you are well below the weight limit, they are nice zippy little boats, but if you are at, or over that limit, they are pretty darned slow.

Maybe my DS and DH just had a slow boat but they were well within the weight limit. They just thought it would be a little zippier than it was:confused3

it is something fun and relaxing to do. i went w/ my df around the 7 seas lagoon from Poly and that was very fun. The time before that we did it at downtown disney. at Poly, we ate the character breakfast and then went to do that for an hour and 1/2. we took turns driving it, and yes it was not very fast.

We tried this for the first time in March. I read that there are faster ones at different resorts, like POR has ones that don't go as fast, plus you are always passing the ferry to DTD. So, we went to WL rent one. We had a fun time! You can take it all the way over to MK. We actually took a boat from MK to WL, then rented the sea raycers and zipped around the lake. I thought we'd do it for an hour, but a 1/2 hour was good enough for us. We didn't get wet at all. You are wearing a life vest while in it. The voucher that I got was for 90 min at the 60 min price, way more then I would ever need. If it is warm enough, we'll probably do it again this December trip.

DH and his groomsmen rented these out of GF the day of our wedding. They were a little bored, so they kicked it up a notch...and got themselves kicked right out of the marina! LOL Which, incendentally was where our ceremony was.

DH said regardless of what happened, he wouldn't spend the money on it. Too many other options at WDW.
