Sea bands?

They are inexpensive enough and harmless so I say go ahead and try them. I used them exclusively on my last cruise (while pregnant and not wanting to take meds) and I can't honestly say they helped me much, if at all..

I'm actually thinking of putting the pricey electronic "ReliefBand" on my holiday list to prepare for my January cruise. I always get seasick but have not tried that device yet!

They worked for me. I brought them on my last cruise, but did not need them. Could it be on my first cruise, it was all in my head...
I will bring them next year....just in case.:yay:

I have Seabands and PSI bands and think that the PSI bands work much better. I bought them on Amazon and I do think that the PSI bands worked very well.

They worked for me. I get seasick/airsick (on small boats & planes) & was worried when I took a tiny floatplane in Alaska. The Sea Bands worked like a charm, not one bit of airsickness.

Sayhello

I've used them and they worked for me.

I used sea bands on my first cruise and the sea had 7 to 14 ft. waves. I didn't get sick. I usually get car sick on curvy roads and I didn't want rough seas ruining my trip, it was worth a try.

Kind of like Wendy - she could only fly if she believed.

They worked for me and my daughter.

I only needed them when the waves were bigger, she however had to have them on all the time. She took them off one afternoon and ended up very very sea sick. The rest of the cruise she never took them off.

I would highly recommend them

I know lots of people like them, but in my experience, they do not work. I get severly motion sick, big planes, lake boats, cruise ships, and even in the car. It is never worth it to get sick, I go with the sure bet, the scolpamine patch and a meclizine morning and night. Yes, that's how motion sick I get, and I still love to cruise. :confused3

I've never used them. This is the first time my kids are cruising though and I'm wondering if I should look into them for them. Good thread.

I get very seasick and they worked for me. However, a couple of days in, my hands started to swell so I took them off.

I kept mine on most of the time. While watching the shows it was worse, so I'd press down on them a little harder and it helped. The anestesiologist (sp) also did the pressure thing on my wrists after my c/s since I also get sick with any surgery. Really seemed to help then too.

One night the seas were quite rough and the ship was rocking pretty hard. I kept up with the Sea Bands and meclinzine and I was fine, while others not so much. They aren't the most fashionable things to wear, but I'd rather where those than be sick. Even if you don't wear them, you can still press on the pressure points yourself to help relieve the nausea.

Our daughter gets car sick after being in the car for an hour. We bought the Sea Bands for her to wear on long car rides and she hasn't had any incidents. I'm going to talk to her doctor though to see if we can get her the motion sickness patch. We'd rather err on the cautious side for our first cruise. :)

Worked like a charm for me! I kept them on while onboard, except while sleeping or in the shower!

Worked like a charm for our DD. She felt bad the first night on the ship. Put on the trusty SeaBands and she was eating dinner 15 minutes later. Took them off the next day and didn't have any problems after that!

I would suggest (and probably someone else already has) that if you plan on using meds/patches that you use them BEFORE the cruise. Some of those can really knock you out. Make you feel dizzy, tired, that kind of thing. Not something you want to discover on vacation...

Glad I found this thread because I had some questions.
If one is prone to sea sickness then should I keep the sea bands on throughout our 7-night cruise? And also should I keep other meds on hand and use it along with it! Lastly, are there sizes for kids?

I have read somewhere that people start using sea sickness meds before they get on the ship.

Thanks!

I am debating about psi bands or sea band. Anyone tried the psi bands??:surfweb::surfweb
