SDV August 21-24 2008 WE'RE HOME!!!

I'm looking at the dream weekend or the early bird weekend. That's the first 2 packages.

I would totally be willing to do a quad to save money for everyone!
 
I can't believe registration is up already!!

I'm with BAMB, either of the first two packages. I guess it depends on how DH is gonna be getting the girls off to school on Friday morning! I guess I have 8 months to prepare him. :lmao:

Count me in on a t-shirt - that's a great idea! This will be my first SDV and I'm SO excited! I hope 2008's classes look as great as 2007's!

Could someone who went in 2007 let us newbies know how much table space we'll have to work with? (width & depth of table space would be ideal) I want to get used to that size space beforehand! LOL!!! That might help me from overpacking!

I believe you get a quarter of a banquet table so probably like 3 1/2 feet by 2 1/2 feet. There are 4 people at a table. I got lucky as the people across from me were a no-show and the people next to me didn't scrap the same hours I did. One thing I saw people bring that I definitely will bring this year are wire shelves to stack up and put in front of you so you don't have all your stuff in your work area.

I'm pretty flexible - the more nights the better and the more roomates the better to keep the cost down.

Am I correct in assuming we can't really register until we have the roomate thing figured out since everyone has to be on the same package?

Faerie - I swear last night I saw something somewhere on the website that they do do payment plans - regular charges to a credit card or mailing checks in, but now I can't find it.

Diana, start prepping now, he'll have it down by August.

Marylee, I believe the tables are 8x4 or 6x3, something like that. Anyway they put 2 tables together on the long side to make a square and there are 4 people to a square. There is plenty of room! The stackers are great!!!

Susie, give everyone a few days to look and we'll start matching up. How many people are you willing to share with? that will help determine your cost.

Faerie, the first $50 is due within 10 days of booking and the rest needs to be paid by 6/23/08. I don't think there is really a schedule to pay as long as it's paid in full by the due date.

I'm going to more info over to the first post later, need to get the boys now.

The room they use is HUGE so we don't have to decide today. We have time!

I can do deposit and payments, that's ideal! I'll share with as many as possible to keep costs down :D

I will also have to talk to them about getting us all together. Once we get a list going I can e-mail Dale and Nancy with our names.
 
I found out the answer to my own question. This comes from their website:

It is VERY IMPORTANT that every roommate registers and submits their registration at the same time! It is also VERY IMPORTANT that your roommates' packages match and you spell your roommates first and last name correctly. Too often we get people who list someone different than the other roommate listed and this only DELAYS YOUR CONFIRMATION and you might actually lose your seat with these delays!

I would most prefer dream weekend- the first package- I would love to get a quad as DH isn't coming along. Let me know what we need to do. I can do the second package too, especially in a quad- because I will be taking Friday off school so I can drive up Thursday night or Friday it doesn't matter to me.

I registered, but after talking to 10 of the 15 from my group last year, most probably won't attend. I use to do the "max weekend", but it's now out of my price range. Last year I only did Fri, Sat & Sun. I even taught two class last year to help pay for the crop fee. LOL

Think backing....my first SDV in Orlando was in 2003 and cost @$265 for Thur-Sun.

So I probably won't go this year. It's hard to justify the $ with my DH, when the two of us haven't gone anywhere on vacation since June 2006.

How those thinking about attending...if you can swing it...DO IT!! You'll have a great time!!
