SDMT - Total Disappointment

Anyone agree? IMO, they missed a great opportunity to make it great. I would have loved more of the theming a la Splash, more elaborate and longer.

Thank goodness we had a FP.

i agree completely.
we had FP+ and were very happy that we did because we would not wait in the SB line for something so disappointing.
it needed more storyline and more inside theming and yes needed to be longer.
i would have loved for it to be more like splash mountain is with its storyline and theme and length.
i will never go on it again unless i have FP+ for it or the line is short which will never happen lol.
and i certainly wouldn't waste my RD time on it either.

Considering the FL location I did not expect 7DMT to be a thrill ride, but I do agree that it could have been longer. It is fun, and cute, but certainly not worthy of a long wait if FP+ is not available.

i didn't go in expecting much of a thrill either but i expected much more than what i got as far as theming and length.

I guess I'm in the "other camp." I enjoyed it a lot. It is over quick, but after reading many posts, I expected that. And I really wouldn't like for it to be longer, like Splash. I don't really like Splash - it's too long for me. I get bored waiting for something more interesting to happen than passively riding along, waiting for the big drop. (And I'm not a thrill rider - BTMRR is my limit of adventure on a coaster!).

Splash is my favorite ride, but I really liked SDMT in its own way. I thought it was a fun little coaster and I enjoyed rocking our barrel from side to side!

I don't understand why they made the seats kid sized. I realize it's a Fantasyland ride but adults ride it. I don't think they wanted to take up more land to make it longer. It's cute but not a thrill ride.

totally agree about the seat.
i was uncomfortable which made the ride even more disappointing.

IMHO the ride is what they said it would be. Its not meant to be an adult RC like EE or Space Mountain. I do however, agree the seats are tight..............and the biggest flaw on an otherwise nice ride.............its at least 90 seconds to short.

Supposedly the initial plans called for a longer ride with more story.

It certainly felt like Disney spent enough time and money to get more from their investment.

As it is, I enjoy 7DMT. I think it is a good Disney ride.

It's not a "alter your vacation plans, this is Amazing" sort of ride" (like Radiator Springs Racers) and that is OK. MK is a great destination that became better with the addition of 7DMT.

i don't think anyone here is saying it was meant to be a thrill ride and failed in that respect.
at least i'm not saying that.
i am saying that i found it to be too short and not nearly enough of a storyline to make me want to ride it again.

I like the ride, but the seats are terrible. Very uncomfortable. My husband chose not to ride with us a second time because of the seats.

In another time, it would have been seen for what it actually is, which is a "souped up" Goofy's Barnstormer. When it's viewed view that prism, it's actually a cute, little ride. But the "role" it is being asked to play, "the most important non-character FP at the MK," when people are so desperate for quality additions, the stage gets too big, and it fails miserably.

It was cute and fun and we feel no need to ride it again. We'll get FP+ for other rides instead.

I loved it! I never have high expectations except that any ride will be fun. It was fun! With so many people disliking it, maybe the lines will shorten sometime soon.

I had such low expectations going in based on everything I'd heard about it here that I was very pleasantly surprised. I actually loved it and would have loved to ride it again during our trip. We had a fastpass one evening and were able to walk right on after our dinner at BOG. Came out just as Wishes was starting. It was the best evening of the trip and we were all impressed with how smooth the ride was and loved the part where you go through the mine with all the jewels lit up. I didn't notice that the seats were uncomfortable at all.

doubtful because more and more people that have either never been to WDW or have not been since the ride opened will continue to come every day wanting to ride it.
