When I use the bands do SDFP, those have to be done at the kiosk, right? I can't do them in the app? Those bands are already linked on my MDE. After I make those FP at the kiosk, though, I can change them in the app? I'm sorry to ask so many questions!! I really appreciate your help!!!!

Maaaarrrrciiieeee!? Marcie keeps up to date on this changing detail. You couldn't, then you could, then you couldn't use the app for SDFP changes. Count on needing to visit the kiosk to book and to change SDFP. But you can always try it on the app and report back on what happens.

I have been doing my research for first WDW visit in 20 years and came across this thread and the main FP thread. TY for all the great info!

We have an on property hotel booked through a third party website. The reservation is linked to our MDE account and we will be receiving MBs. (We could add an infant to obtain an extra MB if it would benefit us.) We purchased RFID tickets through a reputable third party authorized seller. The RFID cards have not yet been linked to MDE.

What is the ideal way to register the MBs and RFIDs for real/phantom to maximize the FPs we can obtain in advance vs. SDFPs? TIA.

We are two adults and two young children, the latter on their first trip to WDW. Very excited!

So there will be a trade off. You could link the ticket to your primary profiles. Then you can book FP 60 days out, but the cards and bands will be cloned.

You could link the tickets to phantom profiles that you set up on your MDE to avoid cloning the bands and cards. Then you can prebook FP at 30 days out on the profiles with the tickets and use the bands for SDFP. If you're hoping to choose high demand FP, you'd better give up the SDFP so you can book at 60 days out.

As of last Thursday I could still no longer make changes at all to SDFP's anywhere but a kiosk. I'll be at MK Tuesday and can try then again.

In fact (I forwarded it to Hiro), the error message now comes up in a bright red warning box!

Thank you! I think we will mainly want to ride in Fantasyland. Are those rides also hard to book at 30 days out?

We will be getting MB for out trip in August. Our friends have MB that used to be annual pass MB. Could we use their mb as SDPF MB? Or do we need their MDE act info? Or will they not work? Advice appreciated.

They will definitely work, unless something changes drastically in the FP system. Check back on the DIS before you go to see if people are reporting any changes.

Their MDE account info isn't necessary, though you'll want to take a photo of the FP screen so you don't forget what your picks are - since of course they won't show up on your MDE.

You might want to have a look at some of the FP threads that provide details on which rides are harder to book than others.
Yes, I'm going to because DH is not convinced SDFP is worth it at all because he assumes all the good rides will be booked. I figure that you folks wouldn't have such a popular thread if SDFP were not worth it. Lol. I will need to sort this out quickly as our 60 day window is about to open. Probably will link the ticket in MDE and then purchase a second set of MBs once I get more facts. Thanks again.

I used 4 Phantom bands last week. It was worth it at MK and Epcot but not so much at HWS or AK. Epcot we got the land, finding nemo, and figment. Our originals were soarin, mission space and earth. MK our extras were mansion, jungle cruise, and pirates. Having those extra do help with touring

Good to hear!

One final question...I think...LOL...can I order two new MBs online from the Disney store, set up a separate account for those, and use those to book 30 day out FP+? They won't have any tickets (current or past) linked to them.....so I'm not sure....

No, those can only be used for SDFP's - "Same Day". You can only book 30/60 days out if there are active tickets/AP's linked. You will do as you said but then the day you're at a park will go to a kiosk and book FPP's for that day.

No. Unticketed bands are only good for SDFP. That's what SDFP are -- FP booked same day on bands that have no tickets.

SDFP Trip Report:
I just got back from MK. We went last Tuesday. The weather called for 70% thunderstorms all day due to that tropical storm. I am not sure if this kept the crowds down or not. It certainly felt crowded. I had two sets of extra bands. Security did not bat an eye. I sent my hubby with our group of 7 to dumbo and I went to tomorrowland and loaded SDFP. No one was at the kiosks except for a CM. Since I had already booked splash, BTMRR and Space, I was looking for other experiences. There was a good selection and I was able to get everything I wanted. (Not 7DMT, I had already resigned myself to the fact we were not going to ride it. I don't feel like the experience is worth the wait. Since we were off property, I was unable to book it 30 days out.) The CM on duty did not say anything when I pulled out my second baggie of bands/cards. (Odd combination, but I had been collecting from friends.) In all, we experienced 22 different attractions. If anyone knows the actual crowd level for that day, please let me know! :yay:

Thanks for sharing your experiences! According to Touring Plans, Tuesday (June 7) was predicted at a 9 and ended up being an 8 (of 10) in terms of MK crowds.

I was at MK on Saturday and had the same experience that @marciemi did - SDFP could not be changed except at kiosks.

Same here. We were there May 27- June 6. We made a separate MDE. After the first day, we couldn't even see our FP+ on the app after the first day.

Do you think it would worth it to buy 4 magic bands to use for SDFP? We will be there from Friday, June 17 -Thursday, June 23, one park/day.
We plan to visit MK at least twice and HS twice. EP and AK will be one day for each. We still have to decide where we want to spend our last park day.
TIA and also thanks to everyone who has contributed to this board.
I really appreciate it!

You're the only one who can decide if it's worth it. Depends on the kinds of things you want to see and do. Some guests don't need more than three FP. They choose their favorite three rides. They eat both breakfast and dinner at table service locations and spend quite a bit of time over those meals. They like to sit on Main Street USA watching the crowds for an hour to get a good place for the parade. Or maybe they like to go back to their resort when the heat becomes too much in the mid-afternoon. Guests with that sort of touring strategy are fine with the basic 3 FP and can save the $50 on extra bands. On the other hand, maybe you would like to go on more than three rides with short wait times - you want six. So you spend about $50 for four people to save a minimum of an hour and a half of waiting in line -per day. Depending on the attractions, you might save more like three hours of waiting in line day per day. Is it worth it?
