At MK? There's not one right in or by the firehouse per se but there are two on the right, right inside City Hall. Sometimes they're covered but usually that's the best place to go.

They were covered again this morning. Doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason.

Were the bathrooms there open again yet? I know they originally said June - I'm hoping that may have something to do with it since when the line is long for Guest Services, they may not want people trying to get in to use the kiosks. So maybe when they reopen they'll stop covering the kiosks? Or maybe it actually is like a CM told me and they're truly having issues just with those kiosks.

Will this work...we went last year and still have our magic bands. We are booked again this year but it's under same MDE account. Can I add new profiles for my husband and children and then edit our room reservation to include the new profiles instead. Then the new magic bands would not be part of the hive from last year? I know mine would be, but we have one under 3 and could use his to get my SDFP. Thanks in advance for your help!
The only way to change a name on an onsite reservation is to call and request a change. You can't Edit on your own.

I am going to go ahead and purchase tickets for a future trip to add to my recently purchased second set of magic bands. Is it best to purchase tickets from some place like Undercover Tourist for discounts? Assuming those could be upgraded at a later date too correct?

I plan to purchase 8 day tickets...usually what we use on a normal trip.
Purchase wherever is easiest for you. Tickets can be upgraded when you are in the park.

What time of day do people typically go to the kiosk to get SDFP? Do the kiosks have long lines early in the day? I don't want to waist 20-30 min of prime touring time signing up for SDFP since I doubt they are the best options to start with. But I don't want to wait too long in the day so none are left to book. If planning to do rope drop when would be best time to go to the kiosk?
Also I set up phatom names in MDE for everyone. Do all of the phantom bands need to be present at the kiosk to book them? And Can 4 be scheduled at once or do you have to go through slowly 1 phantom at a time since they don't have admission?
I believe most people book when they enter a park. See Post #671.

Thank you. I will just have my extend d family members search for their old ones then!

I am sitting in my room at POP right now (yayyy!!) and am trying to link my new magicbands to the phantom names in my MDE account, but can't figure out how. I just created 4 new phantoms in my regular account...is this correct? I have tried to find a place to add a magic band for each of these new people, but can't figure out how. What am I missing?

edit to add: I bought 4 new magicbands in the POP giftshop to link to the phantoms.

Go to your Profile area of MDE > MagicBands and Cards > Link a MagicBand

Enter the MB ID # that is on the underside of the MB. After you enter the ID #, your MB will be linked.

Will it ask for the name of the person it should be linked to after I enter the number? I am afraid that it will just automatically be linked to me.

It won't randomly link it to anyone. You have to select the phantom.

Use a Sharpie to mark each of the new bands with the name of the phantom - in case you don't always book the same FP+ selections for all four at the same time, in which case you'll need to know which band matches which phantom. You can always look at the Magic Bands and Cards section of your MDE to double check which is which (as the number of each MB will be shown).

Last year my daughter booked our trip to Disney World through her MDE account. This year I booked our WDW trip through my MDE account (different e-mail than my daughter). Will we be able to use our magic bands from our last trip for SDFP? We also have plastic cards from last year for MNSSHP, can we use them to get SDFP also? The same family members will be going this year that went last year.

If the magic bands and MNSSHP are linked to the same people, you will only be able to get 1 extra set of SDFP's.

Have you issued and accepted friend requests through the MDEs (you would have clicked on "Connect Through a Disney Account") - in which case you would see your daughter's name as managing her own profile - and you've been able to make plans for each other? If you have, then the bands (and also cards) are all clones of each other and can't be used for SDFP+.

So how is the selection of FPs available day of?
These days useless for Epcot, very good for MK and reasonable for HS (usually can get like ToT or RnRC late in the day and other things sooner). Not enough data yet on how late nights at AK and third track at TSMM will affect availability, or of course how things will look at Epcot with all the new stuff in a few weeks.

Thanks HiroMyHero and ScrapYap!! I was able to find the place to link the magicbands last night, but I wasn't sure if they would automatically link to me or it would give me a screen to pick who to link them to. With your encouragement (Hiro), I was brave enough to get to that next screen and got them all linked successfully. I appreciate you talking me down from the ledge. :)

We had a successful day using our phantom bands at MK. We already had FPs for Mine Train, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain with our regular bands and were able to schedule Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, and Jungle Cruise for SDFPs. It was so easy, thanks to all of the help in this and ScrapYap's thread.

Looking forward to trying them out at Epcot tomorrow!

Yay! I'm glad everything worked out wonderfully for you. And, nice list of FPs! :yay: Thanks for reporting in ~ enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Good day at MK! Just curious...what time did you go to the kiosk, which one, and how many in your party? And how long did it take? I'm concerned that with the inability to edit on the phones it will take me a while at the kiosks to get stuff that works for our party of 5 that follows a somewhat strict touring plan. Looking forward to hearing how it works out at Epcot!

Yes. Using APs that belong to others is GLFP. ;) I have comp tickets that sit in my MDE, earmarked for use at DLR, and are used for GLFPs for WDW.
First, thanks for all the help you've been so far and for this awesome thread. I've been through a decent portion of it, and I was hoping you could confirm that the following is possible:

I've set up a secondary/'phantom' MDE account. My primary MDE account is linked to my DVC resort reservation and has the tickets I intend to use for my upcoming trip. So if I buy a second set of tickets, and link those to my secondary MDE account, I'll be able to make FP+ reservations at 30 days out, and then use those FPs in the park, even if I don't use those tickets to enter the park, correct? And those secondary tickets will still be usable for a future trip, so long as I don't use them to enter a park on this trip, correct?

If all is correct above, my plan is to get hard-tickets (RFID card) from a third party seller that I'll hold on to in a separate wallet (but linked to secondary MDE account). We'll enter the park using the current/active tickets on the magic bands, and we'll just pull out these cards at the FP touch points. Then we'll use the secondary tickets on a future trip, and use my current primary MDE account cards and bands for SDFP+.

This sound like a good plan?

All the steps of your plan are correct.

I'll be able to make FP+ reservations at 30 days out

For the above, if you link your MDE #2 to MDE #1, the phantoms will share the 60-day booking window when at least one "real" person is linked with the phantoms when booking. Then, move the real person back to the MDE 1 group for the booking of those FPs @60 days out.

You don't have to link the MDEs as you'll still have a good selection of FPs 30 days out.
