SDFP... Here now. Works! *Read Post #48 and Post #671*

We have 2 MBs in our MDE from a prior trip for people who aren't going to the parks this trip, so it sounds like we can use those for SDFP. :) My question is, if we show up at RD at MK, what would the best plan be?! As in, when/where would be the best kiosks to get SDFP, and what rides are generally not available for SDFP? TIA!

We have extra MBs that I could use for SDFPs but I was considering buying one day PHs or 2-day tickets to use instead. However, if I buy one day tickets I guess that saves me the time/hassle of standing in line of a kiosk but I pretty much would be selecting the FPs the night before (except for the first night of our trip). I'm not positive I want to sink the money into 3 extra tickets right now. Anyone have an opinion on how much better FP availability is the night before vs. SDFP?

If you don't want the expense of 3 tickets, you can follow the directions in the NBFP section of ScrapYap's thread.

Booking the night before frees up your time as you won't have to head for a kiosk in the morning.

I was also going to add that there doesn't seem to be much difference in availability between midnight the night before and entering the park at 9am, but of course that takes away from prime RD time. And if you wait until 10 or 11am to book the SDFP's, there will be a difference as everyone who came in the park without FPP's made will have done them during that time.

This is why having a non-roller coaster riding person in your party is useful. While the rest of the gang is off to Space Mountain, RNRC, Everest or TT, I'll be swiping the SDFP. I only have 4, so it shouldn't take too much time right?

It should go fairly quickly. As I've said before, since you now have to choose the rides one at a time, you might as well attempt to get the ones you want. Then you can change times on your phone more easily than changing the whole ride whenever you have time later (but realize availability will of course dwindle as the day progresses). But I can't imagine it would take you longer to do than for them to ride any of those rides.

Hmm, yes I guess I could do NBFP the night before. It might be challenging to get rides together but probably could on B list attractions or if lucky. Thanks for the reminder!

Question, please:

I have a number of phantoms connected to 5 day tickets and want to use these as fast pass generators for an upcoming trip. I have associated these phantoms (from another MDE) to the MDE I am using for my upcoming trip. My 60 day window opens tonight!

To take advantage of these phantoms for the 60 day window, I understand they need to be associated with a profile on the on-site reservation when making FP+'s. So, can I make them all together, then go back and individually change them and still keep that window?

Thanks,

Chuck

Another question: The 5 day tickets, never use, that are assigned to my phantoms say "non-transferrable" while my 2 day park hopper and party tickets give the option to "reassign tickets". Anyone know why?

Yes.

If your phantoms are listed as family and friends who can share plans and see photos then you should be able to make fp+s for the phantoms when your 60 day window opens. We have been using our son-in-law's five day park hopper for several trips now. He is listed on his own MDE account but we are connected as family and friends.

You would have to log into the MDE account of the phantoms in order to see the reassign ticket option, I think.

Thank you, Hiro!

Exactly right!

Wait, what? Where? It would seem that I have missed some good information somewhere!

I have been re-reading the original thread to better understand the 'umbrella' technique to get 60 day FP on profiles which aren't part of a reservation.

Is there any way to do this if the profile with the reservation already has fast pass selections (and not lose those existing selections?). Assuming I already have FP selections on the reservation/primary group ('group 1'), could I just delink one from group 1, link to another ('group 2'), make selections on the other profiles on group 2 (one at a time so as not to override existing selections on the 1 profile with the reservation?) , delink it from group 2 and link back to group 1?

(I'm not quite familiar with the grouping. When I've gone it's been a single group of 4 with always the same selections)

(Related question - Can I have multiple groups, and can I group profiles that have different selections?)

Using an umbrella, everyone within the group must be selecting a FP. You have to Select an onsite person, Select FPs for the group, and re-select for the onsite person.

You can regroup any guests from your list. Each person can have a maximum of any 3 FPs.

You could save the expense of 3 tickets, but you'd still have to get one ticket or NBFP won't work.

It makes more sense to me to invest in next year's tickets and use those for GLFP+ for the whole group. Reassigning is too much work. :)

Thank you, and thank you. I see how it works . . . I'll stick with SDFP+, but always good to know the options!

Note that the circled Mickey head (signifying RFID presence and kiosk readiness!) has been replaced on all new ticket media and room key cards with the image of a card being tapped. (You don't swipe a Disney card or band - you tap it. :))
