Thanks! There are quite a number of variations on this theme, but this is the one that interested me. Thanks, too, for the speedy reply!

Just to clarify - the basis of the concept of SDFP is that there are no tickets linked to the MBs or cards. If you have linked tickets, you wouldn't be waiting for same day - you'd have prebooked. :)

Thanks for the extra clarification, but I've got it. :thumbsup2
In trying to make my question clear, I caused more trouble! LOL - should have just left that confusing part off.

Have seen much since the 4/10 changeover about old tickets/bands in various states of use/non-use, "phantoms", "throwaways", AP's - but hadn't really seen a confirmation for "Yes, brand new PURCHASED bands still work all on their own". That's all I needed as I am not interested in doing the others. Is a matter of park-hopping and a desire to fix a particular problem... long story... :)
Thanks again!

If I have cards tied to MDE that have no park tickets associated with them and I make SDFP reservations using those cards, will I be able to manage/see them on MDE ?

Confusing as things already are, we could use one more acronym - for advance FP+ that are made with a FP generator - ticket or voucher that won't be used for park entry until some future date. These aren't SDFP+ because they're prebooked. And they're not necessarily NBFP+ - because those are the disappearing kind. FP+ booked with an AP voucher, for instance, won't disappear. I think we have two more years of the loophole, so we could use the acronym.

VLFP+ (voucher linked FP+)? But that doesn't cover other kinds of ticket media
SSFP+ (second set FP+)? Not descriptive enough.
PBNAFP+ (prebooked non-admission FP+)? That's a bit much.
FPGFP+ (FP generator FP+) Also a big much.

What about GLFP+ (generator linked FP+)? That's my vote. :)

Hiro - what you got?

Marcie - did this work for you after the Big Change on April 10?

Usually, you have to manage them on the website rather than the app. But there's no reason you can't try to manage via the app before going to the website.

Marcie confirmed both app and website worked on Sunday for Modifying.

GLFP or GFP is fine. If being consistent with a 4-letter acronym, then GLFP. :)

Ok I have read through this thread carefully and I think I understand. I wanted to clarify one thing. I have 2 old no-expiration tickets from 1996. If I bring these tickets and exchange them for plastic card tickets at guest services and do not use them as tickets to enter the park (we already have 6 day tickets attached to my MDE) will I be able to prebook FP each night if I connect them to my sisters non-connected MDE? Then can I use them for FP during the day and then once we are done with FP in the park each day make more FP for the next day and just keep doing that as long as we never use those tickets to enter the park?

Yes, that is correct.

Any chance there's more than one day on those old tickets? If so, you can prebook for whatever number of days they have.

Anyone write on your RFID tickets? I haven't received mine yet, but the last time I received cards with all the same character on the front. I don't think there is any other differentiating feature. I want to put our names on the cards with a Sharpie. I can't imagine this would be an isssue....

You could create a phantom person on your MDE account and assign the old two day ticket to them. Then you would have that person in your profile and it would be easy to handle the fp+ schedules. You would assign that ticket to yourself when you are ready to use it as a ticket.

Yes, I have done this with party tickets and it works fine. :)

They write the names on the tickets most of the time with a Sharpie when you pick them up. Also just FYI if you want to remove the names (for scrapbooking, to change whose they are, etc.), you can use a "magic eraser" (used for cleaning) and the marker comes right off.

I agree with Wood Nymph about assigning the tickets somewhere to a phantom within your account to make it easier to manage and to transfer back more easily later.

I thought once a ticket is assigned to a person (phantom) it can't be reassigned? We have APs but have 4 nonexpiring tickets to get extra FP if this works.

I have asked about this and have been assured by multiple people that an unused ticket can be reassigned to another person and then assigned back to the original owner later. We have AP's and I had to buy a five day park hopper in order to book a free dining bounceback for an upcoming family trip. As soon as that park hopper becomes active I plan to assign it to a phantom in my MDE account. That phantom has a MagicBand and I will be able to use that ticket to book fp+'s. Once my AP expires on Nov 30th I will be able to reassign the park hopper to myself and then use it to renew my AP. In the meantime the park hopper can be used to generate fp+'s.

Look in your MDE account and see if you have the option to assign your unused ticket to someone else. If they are package tickets then you have to wait until your package becomes active before you can assign the tickets to someone else.

On our Nov 2015 trip I created a second MDE account and had multiple MBs for multiple people. I took an old 1 day ticket and assigned it to one person. The night before I would get FPs for the next day for person 1, then reassign the ticket to person 2 and get FPs for them and then repeat for person 3 and person 4. We had our bands color coded so when we got to a ride I would tell everyone "red band" and we all used our red bands for that FP. The next ride it may be "green band". The extra bands worked well at MK and DHS.

For our DHS day we had four different sets of MBs. The fourth set we just used for just Fantasmic that we got at the FP kiosk.

I have a friend going next week and I am going to load her up with FPs a couple days. I have been playing around with the new FP system and it will take a little getting used to.

Okay, I posted the bottom part of this post on the overall FPP question thread so will repeat it here but also will add some SDFP specific things:

I tried with various accounts/people and my conclusion today at Epcot (this is my third day of playing with the Tiers) is:

SDFP Specific:

1. I tried as asked to book a Tier 1 SDFP at a kiosk, use it, then go back to the kiosk and see if I could get another one. I could not. It recognized I had already had a tier 1 and only allowed me to make 2 more Tier 2 choices, just like with a regular ticket. I tried to make a Tier 2 and change it, but of course could only get a Tier 2 alternative. I could not change SDFP's to another park (without going to that park) or book an additional (within the first 3) without going to a kiosk. I could still make changes on my app within tiers.

2. The issues I posted earlier about not being able to change SDFP's on my phone for people I didn't manage (who had their own Disney accounts) were my fault. Although I know at some time these people had their accounts set to allow me to see "All" their plans, both I tried had changed back to allow me to see only "Shared" plans. Neither person had any recollection of changing this and I had to give them step-by-step directions, but once they did I could now see theirs. So this hasn't changed but just throwing out there my problem with it in case anyone else runs into the same thing.

Some reflections on Tiers that don't have to do with SDFP:

1. If you book anything less than 3 FPP's (2 Tier 2 and 1 Tier 1), you will not be able to get a second Tier 1 at the same park. You will be able to get a Tier 1 at the other park (DHS or EP) if you cancel any remaining FPP's (or didn't book them in the first place). If, however, you try to only book/use the Tier 1 or you book all 3 but then cancel the other 1 or 2, it will simply show (either on your phone or at the kiosk) that you have already selected one from that category and only give you Tier 2's to choose from. Again though, tiers don't seem to carry over if you switch parks so if you book a Tier 1, use it, then cancel the others, you can immediately book a Tier 1 in another park.

2. HOWEVER - I did find out today that as long as you're past the window for your Tier 2's, and use your Tier 1, you can then book another Tier 1 in the same park. But...once you do that, you lose the Tier 2's. They still show but every time I tried to see if I could change them to a later time then I got an error message. So I booked Turtle Talk for 9:30, Pixar for 10:30 and Land for 2. Once I used Land (I didn't get to Epcot until almost 2) I could immediately book Illuminations or Mission Space (or other Tier 1's). But although my 9:30 Turtle Talk still showed, it wouldn't let me change it. So if you can arrange your schedule to get past the time windows, you could effectively only ride one Tier 1 and then get another one. But then you'd be stuck in the "one at a time" thing for the rest of the day.

So you don't actually have to USE all 3 but have to be past the window of all 3 or used them all.

Hope this helps and please let me know if anything isn't clear! @hiroMYhero @ScrapYap
