just making sure everyone knows including Hiro. I was able to swipe the 4 phantoms and create 3 separate SDFP. I checked on my MDE immediately after they all were showing. But it doesn't allow you to modify it on the app. It says "need park admission" but I'll take it!
Steve did you have to swipe all 4 phantoms separately and make each one's SDFP that way or can you just swipe one phantom and make the 3 FP for everyone at the same time?

Thornton,
Resting now at the pool in CSR. Gonna head back in an hour. Happy to help! I had to originally swipe all 4 separate phantoms at the beginning of the day in order to have all 3 SDFP. They were immediately showing on my MDE app. I found it very easy to log in to the web mobile app and adjust the phantoms preferences when needed. Once they were all used up I just had to swipe one phantom at a kiosk and all 4 were showing.

Steve, after you swiped each MB, you then chose a set of 3 for the complete group, correct?

My experience today - arrived at HS and was at a kiosk at 9:10 (surprisingly no line at the main one right at the junction where you turn to go to ToT/RnRC but still on Main St. (I know it has a different name!). Also, all day no lines at the kiosks by TSMM which also surprised me. ToT kiosks were always packed when I was near there.

At 9:10, searching for a party of 4, I found:

-No TSMM at all (not surprisingly)
-RnRC only available after 6:40pm
-GMR available all day, including immediately (9:10-10:10 window). Normal but people yesterday saying GMC wasn't available at all. We grabbed it for 10:45 to fit in our plans.
-No ToT at all
-Star Tours available only in the evening (I think around 7:10, which surprised me)

Everything else I noticed was available as far as I could tell (know Fantasmic was - didn't look carefully at the remaining Tier 2's but know I got LMA & Little Mermaid just when I let it fill in).

So are the phantoms just Magicbands that you bought and assigned to that particular phantom in MDE? Or are you using someone else's Magicbands from a previous trip?

This is what I have been seeing all week at home on the lines app with TP. We are going in early June and I hope more rides have time slots because there doesn't seem like much at all during the spring break crowds. Really hope summer crowds are more forgiving :confused3

Ladybug. I bought them yes. Definitely worth it especially on a week long trip.
Okay well this may be where I was getting confused then. So if you bought yours that means they were not already linked to a MDE account and why you had to "swipe"each one individually then? I have a separate MDE account for a room only with 2nd set of bands not linked to tickets at all and all of those bands are set up with an account already and linked together. I wonder if that means I will only have to swipe one in that case and make ressies for them all together?

I bought them separately months ago because I was intending on using those fancy bands in lieu of the free ones but once I found out about SDFP I decided to use the ones I bought as my rogue bands. If your seperate bands do
Not have an actual ticket linked to it you will have to swipe it at the kiosk.

I see. Sorry for the confusion. I assumed you bought the tickets after arriving and did not already have a rogue MDE account created and that is why you had to swipe them individually and make the selections for each one separately. I guess I thought since I already have my 4 phantom MB's linked to a rogue MDE I would only have to swipe one of them at a kiosk at a park and make our 3 selections as a group, but according to what you are saying I am going to have to swipe them one at a time make 3 selections for each separately and hope that by the time I get to MB#4 that the same time/ride is available so our entire party can have the same experience :confused3

Steve isn't saying that.

He confirmed above that you swipe each MB and then, as a group, select the set of 3 FPs. It's a group selection.

Swiping individually just makes the kiosk and FP system recognize the MB prior to selection for the "grouping" of MBs.

Now I get it....good grief sorry about that. We have always just used our pre selected FP+ for our trips and I have never used the kiosks before so I guess I just didn't understand how that works. Sorry guys, but I really appreciate all of you explaining that lol! I feel like an idiot now. :rotfl:

It's okay. It is a difficult concept to begin with and the in park kiosk system is interesting, at best! :)

Thank you. It really is. We have been going since 2011 and mastered the legacy FP and 60 day advanced FP+, but now the SDFP is a completely new concept for us as well lol...always something new to learn!

What are phantoms? What is SDFP?

Happy to pass along the knowledge! Having the extra selections have made the experience even more enjoyable!

What steps did you take in MDE after purchasing the Magic Bands and before entering the parks?
Are the new MB's in your "normal" MDE or are they in a separate MDE account?
Can you assign the new MB's to yourself in the future if the SDFP process gets changed and you would like to make the fancy MB's your "regular" MB's?

ETA: I'm behind the times. I just read the following thread http://www.disboards.com/threads/maximize-fp-get-a-second-set-see-post-227-before-posting.3245463/ which explained a lot. I understand that the MB's used for SDFP can be in a separate MDE account or under a set of different names in one's current MDE account. I think the MB cannot be reassigned later if someone decides to make it their normal MB to be linked with resort reservations, park tickets, etc.

That's correct. But, names (real and/or phantoms) with accompanying linked MBs can be Edited to match names for future reservations. ;)
