Hey! this is better than a soap opera. I do feel sorry for anyone this directly impacts in a negative way (ie people on vacation). Anyone whose 60 day window is today, at least no one else is able to make FP+ either so when it comes back up you're good. But hoping that people at the parks aren't impacted (for their sake).

100% true. On the flipside, when you know that everyone can get on at 7, you get on at 7. But at some point you have to get dressed, go to work, and stop hitting refresh every 3 minutes. I'm trying to decide when that point is.

It's the fear that when it comes back, everyone will make their FPs before you have figured out that it is back up.

I just through on the phone. The CM was able to make all my FP for me!!! Magic restored.

He said that they did a major enhancement last night and the system is just not back up but they are working on it and maybe an hour or two. Not sure what that means for the SDFP and such after them working yesterday. Right now I'm just happy that I got my 1st FP+ with FOP, Navi and FEA all at the times I wanted!!

I knew they couldn't get it right. They were so intent on being able to lock out and embarrass a relatively few guests, that now they've inconvenienced everyone.

I'm guessing most people who are refreshing are not the idle rich who have nothing else to do all day and everyone is going to have to get moving this morning. Sucky and I do have sympathy but hoping it doesn't ACTUALLY impact anyone too much if at all (besides being frustrated) and when it comes up you can get what you want

Let's all take a deep breath. So many people get bent out of shape and start throwing all kinds of blind anger, when they really don't know what's actually happening. Sure, it's stinks MDE is down. I'm in my window too...and mine is really critical because I stay offsite, so I only have 30 days instead of 60+. But it's not the end of the world. Nobody else can make FP+ either. No, I can't check MDE every 30 seconds either, but I'll do the best I can.

I've been in the parks when the app went down for hours. CMs are more than happy to help and as others have said, they'll hand out FP+ as warranted.

That said I do feel sorry for anyone who is impacted but glad Disney will be feeling a little pain. They could have just disabled it, blue mickey head, sorry that FP is not valid... but they had to go and get nasty so now I'm not feeling much sympathy toward them.

Out of curiosity, how exactly do you know for sure that this is all because WDW was trying to be punitive to people trying to cheat the system?

I don't know that is why the system is down. I know that is why I don't have any sympathy for Disney and the fallout. If they had just merely disabled the ability for it to work I would have a lot more sympathy for Disney. Have nothing but sympathy for any guest whose vacation is impacted. Hope that is clear

lol, I can just imagine them sitting around ticked at people who exploit the loophole saying "we'll show them" and then next scene is sitting around in stunned silence while IT furiously tries to get the system back up.

right. I don't disagree with Disney's right to shut down the loophole, but with their inclination to "punish" people who have been using it. They could have shut it down at any time and chose not to. Now boo on them. Shut it down and make it so it can't be used and people will stop trying to use it. Simple. But instead they would rather have the headache of angry guests having their entire account shut down while on a very expensive vacation. Well it seems like they got their headache... in spades.
