It can. The RFID is still activated. The MB is deactivated from being in the system for purchasing and room door access. Any Disney RFID works at the kiosk for SDFP as long as it doesn't link to pre-booked FPs for that specific day.I ran across a MB on ebay for pretty cheap. But after talking with the seller he said that he called disney and had it "deactivated". I assume that band could NOT be used for SDFP?

Many people were buying deactivated MBs because the RFID opened up portals on the Disney Infinity game.
I think right now I am all set with my SDFP situation. I have one day in AKL and 4 people in the room - 2 real 2 phantom. I have disney set to send me 4 MBs for that leg of the trip and have declined MBs on the other two parts of my stay. I have regular tickets assigned to my primary (AP for the kiddo) and MVMCP tickets assigned to the phantoms. Is it at all appropriate to post my FP+ plans here including SDFP goals and plans for feedback? maybe there is some stuff I should switch around, some stuff that might be better at 60 days etc (obviously things like 7DMT will be but there are tons of others). Thanks
I'm back and following directions.
I was just at the Poly for 8 nights, followed by 1 night at the Dolphin. I did GLFPs, not SDFP. It worked beautifully. We had 6 FP pre-booked most days. I was able to make a rolling 4th FP on both accounts, and even though my un-used GLFP tickets were not park hoppers, I was able to book the 4th FP in a different park than I was in.
I took the approach of creating a secondary MDE account, and populated it with the ‘extra’ tickets that I was not going to use to enter the parks this trip. I think adding them to a single MDE account as ‘phantom’ profiles would have been better. I used the MDE app on my phone to manage my primary FP, and used a phone/mobile browser to manage the secondary FP. The mobile browser was more buggy then MDE app, and I had to login pretty much every time I tried to do/check anything. And having to toggle between the MDE app and MDE on the web was a little cumbersome.
I also had the last day day solo where I used my wife and kids’ FP allotments. Between 10 AM and 9 PM I was able to do:
TSMM x 2
ToT x 2
Star Tours
Soarin x 2
Test Track x 2
Frozen
SSE
(plus a bunch of stuff in World Showcase that we didn’t get to as a family)
If I had more energy I could have headed over to the MK and done more, but at around 7:30 PM, I hit a wall and was pretty exhausted.
Thanks again for teaching us about this.
Ok this is my scenario:
group of 6 with one ressie and 6 magic bands linked to that ressie
We are buying MNSSHP tickets on the day of the party (since we fly in that day). How do I go about setting up a phantom account to link them to? That is the only way they will work for same day fp correct? And then they will work for the rest of our trip for sdfp?
We will also be borrowing our friends 9 magic bands that they used last fall. Those are good to go as is for sdfp right??
Thanks for any light you can shine on this for me as I think I "get" it!
This thread is amazing! I have 1 question---sorry if it has been addressed. I have 4 in my family --only 2 of us are going to wdw. can I bring the 2 extra old linked magic bands to use for SDFP? Since these bands still say active do I have to include the 2 extra people on my reservation? or just bring the MBs to the kiosk for fast passes? Thanks!
*4 tickets to use as FP generators. For that trip I will be purchasing 3 adult tickets and 1 child ticket. Doing this will then give me 4 additional FP to use as generators correct?
Correct. You'll use the plastic tickets at the FP lines.I do not need additional magic band for this to work correct?
Okay. So I was 99.9% sure I had everything figure out after clarifying a couple of things. I've read all 25 pages of this thread and should've stopped at ScrapYap's detailed description because all of that made sense...but nope...other people have now made me doubt myself...so I want to double check everything before I move forward.
My family (me, DH, DD9, and DS2) will be going to Disney in December with a package. We will take advantage of FP+ and Riderswap to make the most out of our FP+ since my DS will not need FPs.
I will be purchasing extra 8 day tickets to use on a future trip in 2019 or 2020. I will choose the option for them to mail me a physical ticket instead of emailing them to me. For that trip I will be purchasing 3 adult tickets and 1 child ticket. Doing this will then give me 4 additional FP to use as generators correct?
I do not need additional magic band for this to work correct?
I will be setting up phantoms in my existing MDE account to tie the future trip tickets to and then either move them to our real ones or change the names of the phantoms for the next trip.
All of this seems pretty straight forward to me and ScrapYap has done a fabulous job in the explanation, but I making the mistake of reading other people's questions has made me doubt myself. So I was hoping ScapYap or hiro could confirm my thinking process.
Thanks
And you'll have four sets of GLFP when you only need three (since DS2 doesn't need one yet). Two prebooked sets of FP - you're golden.
Y'all have already talked me through linking expired tickets from eBay to phantoms on MDE to use for SDFPs, which I greatly appreciated. However, I don't know why I didn't think to just add phantom guests to our campsite reservation to get extra magic bands since we can have up to 10 adults on the reservation. So now I have added 4 more "guests" to our reservation for a total of 8. The 4 additional MBs are linked to 4 phantoms on MDE (using our nicknames/last names, which I added to My Friends and Family in MDE before changing the reservation). So I SHOULD now be able to make 2 sets of SDFPs (one set with the extra MBs and one set from the eBay tickets). I just looked at My Reservations in MDE, and the eBay tickets are not showing up! (Ugh!) When I click on the Link Tickets button and put in the numbers, it says something like "This ticket is already linked to an account." (It doesn't say MY account... it just says it's linked to an account.) What is going on?
They have places to make your fastpasses in the little building to the left as you enter the gates. It looks like a house with a porch. There are also kiosks at the end of Hollywood Boulevard, at the junction with Sunset Boulevard, although that is usually crowded. The little house has never been busy when I've been in it.if so, does anyone know where the closest kiosk is in DHS to the entrance?
Hi, sorry but I am unable to help with your question but I do have a question for you if that is ok? Did you increase your campground reservation by logging into your MDE account? I have been trying for days to increase the guest number from 5 to 6 in MDE but it won't go any further than that. When it reaches 'update' the button just doesn't work. I wondered if you had similar problems?
