Scuba Fun or Coki Beach Club anyone?

We are looking forward to some snorkeling on our own at St. Maartens and St. Thomas on our Oct. 5 cruise. I found these Dive Clubs by searching on-line. Scuba Fun offers dives of course, but we are interested in their two hour snorkeling trip by boat around the island. The Coki Beach Club offers guided snorkeling at Coki Beach on St. Thomas, but we are thinking about taking their Beginning scuba class. Has anyone dealt with either of these groups? Diana

I tried to make a reservation for Coki Beach Club, but never got a confirmation--apparently my e-mail got lost in space. I didn't realize that they gave confirmations, so I waited at the gangway for quite some time before I realized they weren't coming. We went over to Coki by taxi and had a great time. When we got back home, I e-mailed Coki to see what happened. Within 1 hour of my email Laura had called me to explain--she was very nice, and make a lot of sense.

My son (10) and I took the Intro to Scuba with Coki last April, and were VERY impressed. Peter and Laura do a fantastic job, pick you up right on the dock, their equipment and instructors are first rate! There are a lot of fish there, the reef is about a 30' dive, they give you food for the fish (got some great photos of son feeding them). We were so sold that we are now getting certified so that when we cruise again in august 2003 we can do a full dive with them. As stated above, make sure they send you a confirmation - they are very good about it, and quite fast. Just an example of how nice they are, my son was just getting over treatments for a bone cancer in his arm, and I made Pete aware of that to make sure we would not have any doctor's waivers needed - when we arrived, he paired us up with a divemaster who had been cured of the same thing AJ had - they had a nice talk, and it really made an impression on him that you could be normal again. Pete and Laura made a customer for life!
