Scuba excursions

Most excursions on the 7 day western note that you need to be certified and have dove within the past two years. How strict are they on this, I am certified, but cant find my card, I have my PADI number , is that enough? It will have been 2.5 years since I Last dove by our cruise, do they need verification on this? Next question, dive in Cayman or Cozumel and which excursion is best?

They WILL check for your C-card you HAVE to have the card and some ID.

I was on a 3 day cruise last year and someone who wasn't certified was trying to dive with our group and they wouldn't let him dive.

I'm not sure if they will check your log for the last time you dove, but you do have to show your card.

You'll need your C-card to dive. A few non-DCL operators offer resort courses, but if you're certified you probably won't be thrilled with that level of diving. You can get a replacement PADI card by calling 800-729-7234, ext 2430. Just "Put Another Dollar In" and PADI will send it over night too.

I like Cozumel, but I would do both.

Since you haven't dove in over 2 years, I would strongly recommend choosing a non-DCL provider and doing a refresher course for your 1st dive. This way you don't have to worry about the DCL 2 year requirement or possibly holding other divers up while you get back up to speed. It's amazing what you can forget in not diving for even a year.
