We'll be staying at the Fort Jan 3-11 in a popup. Will we need a screen house to keep bugs at bay this time of year?

It is a personal choice but we don't have any screen enclosure. Never have had a problem with bugs. We usually camp Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break when we are off from work. If other times are possible we take them.

You shouldn't have a problem with bugs in January. When we go in March, there are never any bugs. I'd bring a bottle of repellent just in case, but you won't need a screen room.

Is repellent really needed? I haven't found a repellent that I can use that actually works (My skin is allergic to many things, mostly artificial fragrance. :headache:)

1) Shouldn't ned it fo flies, mesquitos, etc.
2) BUT, it could help to keep the critters out.
3) Gotta watch for
. . . one huge rat and its mate
. . . two large chipmunks
. . . two enormous foul and their offspring

How cute would it be if two large chipmunks were hanging out in our popup after we got back from a day at the parks? Maybe already had dinner ready...

Nah.....the only thing you really need to be concerned about is it turning a little cooler than you expect. Our winter really kicks in in January.....where we might dip into the 50's at night. ;) I just mentioned the repellant as a backup.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. :thumbsup2
