Screaming on the Haunted Mansion

Now those rides are different. I'd constantly be screaming on the first two, and every drop on SM.

But Haunted Mansion? THAT'S obnoxious.
ITA! I was next to a young boy, maybe eight or nine, in the Stretching Room. He looked really shaky, so I started talking to him, telling him it was fine, nothing bad would happen, I'd been there a lot and see, I'm fine... when the lights went out and two teenagers who HAD to have heard me calming him down, SHRIEKED

Why are you being so rude to every person who posts a complaint?
:confused3 I checked the dictionary - realistic isn't defined in ANY way as "rude".

Why are you being so rude to every person who posts a complaint? Your tone is so easily detected on every post you have made in the last two weeks and it is quite a snotty one at that. Is this a moderator privilege? If you are tired of the complaints, maybe you should take a sabbatical from the Disboards for a while to cool off.

Hoo, boy am I confused. I read Cleo's comment about 10 times and I still can't figure out what on earth was rude about it?

True enough - however why should one have to do that?

That's true. I just like to go more than once. :p Any excuse is all I need!

That's the problem. Their mothers aren't with them.

And that's what gets me. Even when my Mom wasn't with me, I was afraid she'd find out (because she ALWAYS did).

I hate to admit it, but yea, the screaming makes me sigh--at least the type you're describing, the screaming just to scream. I've heard my more-than fair share of it at HM, but also with the new PoC this summer (DL). And I really get tired of people repeating the few words they know of the ToT script (as do CMs, from what I've been told).

I hate the screaming for no reason...scream when you are scared, thats what you are suppose to do, but not the whole ride. I also hate people saying everyword with the Ghost Host and making sure to say, "Well there's always my way" right before the Ghost Host. It happens on HM and on ToT. Yes I know each word too...yes I like to think I can imitate the voice perfectly, but not during the ride save it for when you get home! Not everyone has been to Disney so have some respect for them!

I must be extremely luck. I've never heard anyone scream on Haunted Mansion.

I still remember being a kid and having the people in the car behind us KNOCK on the back of our doom buggy. I was looking at the distance between the two and I still don't see how they did it, but they did. I'm assuming this was before they put cameras in?

There is a spot on the ride where the buggies are closer than at other times, not sure where but the buggies turn and go up at that point you are closer and can reach out and knock...not that I knock, but I've had my buggie knocked on.

Is that the part with the spiders? If that's the case, that's the reason I've never been able to figure it out. I close my eyes during that part.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm a wimp. But I detest spiders. Even fake ones.

Not sure if it is the spiders part or not...and I don't blame you for detesting spiders I'm not a fan either!

PP is Previous Poster! 250 posts and there are still abbreviations that make me stop and ponder. I am so proud when I figure it out on my own. I really think this skill is coming in handy at work. We received something from the health dept (I direct a preschool) with a lot of abbreviations and I was able to figure it out. ;) Now I am presently a little stumped by ITA :scratchin
No, no hints, I will figure it out. I just need to see it in a few more sentences. :offtopic: Sorry
Last year, our last night was the first night of the cheerleader invasion. They screamed through all of HM and did cheers sporadic cheers everywhere! I was very glad it was our last night. I am a youth director so I'm use to teenagers and I tell mine all the time not to embarrass me by acting rudely in public.

We had that happen when my oldest DD was 5. She was all excited to go on HM and knew it was all pretend. Then the screaming in the stretching room about ended our day at the park! She was crying and upset and it took several minutes to calm her down. She did decide to ride, but ended up hiding her head in her hat for the whole ride and for every indoor or dark ride for the rest of the trip.

OK, you can see it in a few more sentences.

Poster #1: "I think Cool-Beans is not only the smartest person on the DIS, she is also the most beautiful."

Poster #2: "ITA! She's amazingly intelligent and gorgeous!"
...........................................................................................

Poster #1: "Everyone should always agree with Cool-Beans, because she is always right."

Poster #2: "ITA! I've never seen her be wrong."
...........................................................................................

Me: "ITA!"

Fantastic examples! Who could NOT know what ITA means after that! Too funny! :rotfl2:

Oh how subtle :rotfl:

I Totally Agree! Those sentences were just what I needed! Another code broken. IMO, ITA with the OP and all the PP that :scared1: in the HM at MK while you are at WDW with your DH and DD and DMIL on the DDP is totally unnecessary- save it for EE or ToT. :thumbsup2

Its always during the preshow when they say, "There's always my way out", screaming is ALWAYS abundent. Also in the attic when the ghosts pop out from behind the tombstones, that scares me once, but once you keep seeing it, the same people keep screaming obnoxiously and that is SOOOOOO annoying. It really does ruin the ride. :guilty:

Totally different park, but same situation. If you've ever been in King Tut's tomb at Busch Gardens you'll know how it's laid out - walk into one room that has the tomb 'goods', then you walk into the next room that has the faux sarcophagus and mummy, etc. It's spooky, but interesting, and certainly not meant to scare the wits out of anyone. There are benches in the first room; it's cool after being in the heat, and there's a lot of detail, so I was sitting in there for a bit, when a bunch of kids [yes, teenagers, but I don't know if they were Floridians or not; teenagers from any state can be rowdy], came through, a bit loud and obnoxious. They had walked into the next room, and were screaming like banshees for really no reason, when a young family came in. Man, woman, one little girl, one little one in a carriage. Well, that little girl heard those morons screaming, and she immediately dug in her heels, started crying hysterically - she thought there was something horrible beyond the doorway. Her parents, and I, told her it was okay, they were just kids playing around and there was nothing to be scared of, but she wouldn't go, so they wound up going back out the entrance.

It just amazes me how rude and inconsiderate people can be, and while in this case, and the OP's situation, it was teenagers and very often they are the culprits, but I've had plenty of experiences, at Disney, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, where everyone seems to think that since they're on vacation, the world revolves around them. So selfish. IMO, the world only revolves around you when you're truly the only one in it, otherwise you should be giving some thought to the others around you. If everyone did that, we all might have better vacations. JMO. Off soapbox now.
