Krista - I've been looking at the map because I too will be at WS#2 then I was thinking they'd take us back to WWoS at 9:00, then I would drive to Epcot to be at the finish and I'm worried about roads being closed. Do you think we'd be able to take the bus back and drive to the YC that quickly? Gosh, that would be great.
I think we'll be okay, at least driving to the YC. I'll have to get final directions from Stephen (he can drive property with his eyes closed), but I know WWoS is on Victory Parkway, so we'll make a left to get out of the parking lot. While on Victory, we'll cross Osceola Parkway, we'll be above the marathon course, so that road should be open. We'll take Victory until it dead ends into Buena Vista Parkway. Now I "think* I can make a left on Buena Vista to get into the Epcot Resort area, or I can make a right and get on Epcot Center Drive to get into Epcot. Coming from that direction, the roads should be open as it'll be about 3.5 hours into the marathon and people should be well past the Epcot area, the back of the pack should be getting close to mile 12 or 13. For runners coming back into the Epcot area, the course is coming from AK to MGM and we won't need to take any of those roads.
If anyone needs a ride from the WWoS to Epcot, I'll have 3 spots in my car, 4 if people don't mind squishing in the back seat and I can either drive everyone to the Yacht Club, valet park and those who want to scream team at YC/BC can make our way there and those who want to go to Epcot can walk over. I'll be driving from YC to Epcot once all the Wish people pass mile 24. OR I can drive us to Epcot and park there and then the YC/BC people can walk to the YC. Then we can all walk through Epcot and the finish line after the marathon. Either way, it's going to be a lot of walking! We can talk about it more Friday night at the Pop, I am happy to do whichever.
And if there are any other volunteers at the Pop, you are more than welcome to ride over to the WWoS with me, but the only thing is, I have to be there at 3:00 am, so that might not work for people working later shifts. And Stephen and I aren't coming back to the Pop after the marathon as we are checking into Saratoga Springs, but if you need a ride in the morning, just let me know.
