we had another 3 inches last night, but DH got home safe and I got into work Saturday we had about 6 inches in 3 hours - that may not sound much to some of you but its quite enough to bring us to a halt! DNeph(17) took an hour to get back from the mall - all 3 miles of it - on the bus More forecast from 3pm today (now 2.21) so I'm watching the skies....

Are the airports still shut down? I heard that even the trains were having a tough time with the snow.

I am glad everyone was able to stay safe. I will keep thinking about you.

Most of the airports are back up, but Heathrow is only 1/3 operating. They hope to get it sorted today. eurostar (the trains to europe) are still having problems, and some of the longer-distance trains up to Scotland are having problems. MY line is not too bad, just a bit slippery walking there! Its above freezing today so I'm hoping most will be gone by the time I get home.

Hope the problems with the snow are lessening. One of my customers on Sunday was saying that her daughter was trapped in London waiting for the airport to reopen. Being from Boston she couldn't get over how such a "small" amount of snow (compared to what we're used to) could cause so much havoc.

We can't get over it either The head of BAA (airports authority) has said he won't take his bonus. I wouldn't mind guessing he'lll actually have to leave over this. We did get a big dump very quickly on Saturday, but we've had nothing much since. They've has it bad on the contient as well, but I notice the Germans had beds available for people stuck at the airport. I think the airports should be prioritising those who are not from the UK as they have no-where else to go - locals can always go home!

I finished work yesterday evening until after the new year, DH finishes tonight and then he's off for 4 days. My shopping has just been delivered so I don't need to do anything much apart from feed my family today and tomorrow and then go to my DSis on Christmas Day and Boxing day I might even get some scrapping done to my DIS family
