This is a quote from a "friend" over on the DVC boards. Warning, it's choke on your drink funny. I'm still laughing, good thing there's no one here to hear me.

OK, I realize this will make me unpopular, but I'm beginning to think
scrapbooking is a cult! There, I've said it! Once you start, you get
sucked in, it takes more and more time, you can't stop! And then you
start trying to recruit others! No one is safe! And you must keep
giving your time and money, but the scrapbook, it is never satisfied! And
you try and try, but it is never enough, never enough time, never enough
money, never enough converts, never enough of the 15 GAJILLION
DIFFERENT CUTTER THINGIES!!!!

Okay, deep breath. I'm okay. I'm okay.

I've just had quite a few near misses from my scrapbook proseletyzing
friends. I confess, I just stick them in albums, but I do label!
That's all I want! Just to know who's in the picture. IS THAT SO WRONG!?!?

Sorry. There I go again. But they're fanatics, I tell you. Look at
Carrie, paralyzed from work at just the thought of another cutter
thingie. It's sad. Obviously, everyone here would agree that it's just not
healthy to get so wrapped up in something, planning for it, dreaming
about it, spending countless hours on the internet discussing it with
people we've never actually met, umm, oh wait, uh, nevermind.

I've informed her that she is most definitely not welcome over here! :rotfl2:

LOL! I'm finding this out to be very true!! I knew there was a reason I resisted scrapbooking for so long...

Yessssss, and now you must learn the secret hand shake and drink the secret potion......

Then you must turn in cirlcle 3 times and click your ruby slippers and say "I Will Join My Scrapping Friends, I will Join my Scrapping Friends" :)

My sister told me that the first time i showed her an album. She still will not scrap but she does not have any issues with me scrapping all her stuff! ;)

Because she posted, that shows you there is hope. I think she can be won over to the dark side.... We need to get our best and brightest on her :wizard:

Jeanne

Actually, she secretly admitted to me that her photos are in photo-safe albums with names and adtes. Just no decoration. So, there is hope... I just thought that was the funniest and it reminded me so much of my firnds over here!

Me too! I was a DIS member and then thought I would take a 'peek' at this board. Once I got on this board, I got caught up in the excitement of a swap. EVERYONE was signing up....so I did too. Well, now I own about everything anyone has mentioned and I've still only done one album. Oh well....gives me something productive to do and talk about. :goodvibes

I think she just needs a little more persuasion (nudge, nudge!). Perhaps she doesn't know all the money to be saved scrapping (that's why we buy all the stuff on sale, right?). :rotfl2:

Does she know my husband??? :rotfl: That was FUNNY!!! I totally understand the frustration, but I must already be in the "cult" cuz I keep scrapping!!!!

Yes I can see us all now, standing on the street corner with old torn cloths holding a cup and sign that says: "$$$ FOR SCRAPPING SUPPLIES PLEASE"

Have you been visiting my city? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Awwwwww! She doesn't know what she's missing!!! I ENJOY being a part of the "scrapbooking cult"!!! :cloud9:

I showed this to a couple of friends of mine and they too, as well as myself, belong to the scrapping cult..... We all died laughing and totally agree.... We think she is just jealous!! ;)

One of my friends, who lives in MS, was actually scrapping by candlelight after they lost power.... How's that for dedication?? :flower:
