How many of you get together once a month with friends , family and scrapbook ? If you were starting a new group what ideas would you suggest ? Do you have a fee for refreshments , prizes , etc ? How long do you spend scrappin ? What rules do you use for swappin ? I know its a lot of uestions . thanks in advance .

Before my CM consultant quit she'd have parties once a month and it was $5 to cover cost of snacks. She also gave out little sticker sets or whatever each hour. Whenever you finished a page you put your name in a basket and she'd draw the winners from that.
I have thought about doing something at home with friends. Maybe every other Thursday morning or something. Anyway, I wouldn't do snacks but they could bring a sack lunch. Maybe I'd have muffins and tea or something. Some friends dont' scrap but they might come by to chat. I wouldn't do prizes either. I guess I'd make it low-key but it'd give us a chance to do some scrappin' and see others' ideas.
Oh, I've never done a swap so somebody else will have to supply the rules!;)

I think that setting up a regular scrap party is a great idea. I'm always glad when I have friends that set one up and they don't have any kinds of give-aways but a lot of times we all bring snacks and stuff. I've been thinking about setting something like that up myself but I really don't have much room for it so I always talk myself out of it.

My friend has a scap party each month on Friday evenings. It's very low key. She has alot of supplies, everyone shares ideas and supplies and usually 1 or 2 of us bring snacks and drinks. She's also recently become an SAIS consultant so there are also things to buy, but she doesn't even try to sell stuff. It's just fun to get together.
Sent you a PM awhile back. Not sure if you ever received it.

Scrapping with friends: we get together once/month and switch off houses. We always do dinner and whoever is host pays for dinner. Generally we order out for pizza so the cost ends up being the same. We have snacks and beverages. No contests or prizes. Whoever hosts puts out her tools to share. Other than that, everyone else brings their stuff and we chat and work. Very informal to keep costs low.

If I were starting an official group/club and wanted to do prizes I would have a club fee. As far as food/snacks it would be a suggestion/requirement that everyone brings a dish/snack to pass. Beverages could be provided through the club fee also.

As a CM consultant, my customers pay a $5 fee at my monthly workshop to cover the cost of refreshments and giveaways.

HTH!
