Ordered this only to then find out about the whole scrapper thing on PinPics, now I'm kind of worried as I paid quite a bit for this. What would you guys say? Any help would be appreciated, many thanks:)

The best way I have found that gives a scrapper away is be looking at the outside edges. If its not solid gold and looks crappy. or if the edges are shape and jagged. Anyone else got any ways of knowing scrappers?

Thank you! I will check once I get it, since I made this post I checked the 'Good/Bad eBay Seller Thread' and my seller was in the good section. Hopefully this also bodes well! :D

Another way is by feeling the weight of the pin. Some scrappers feel much lighter than real pins. And the cooring is usually off

I think it's hard to tell if the color or weight is off unless you have a real and a fake of the same pin. And if the color is off, then I can't necessarily tell which is fake and which is real. If this pin comes on the paper card, though, you're probably good. I think the counterfeiters don't usually work that hard.

That's good to know thank you! I dont have another one to compare weight to or colour (Pinpics only shows the concept art) but the card sounds like a good reassurance :goodvibes

You might consider putting an inquiry on pinpics. It will then be copied to one or two disney pin trading forums where active traders are.

It's been a while since I saw this pin (went to see Tangled at El Capitan and a friend's husband bought it). Next time I see it in person, I will look closely.

But it is odd that Flynn's face looks a bit dippy (at least in the picture) - it could be the reflection of the flash.

Also, does the SKU on the back of your card match the one in pinpics?

I might just do that thanks :) Umm, regarding the SKU, I have yet to recieve the pin so I can't say whether that matches up. In a way I wish I never heard about 'scrappers' because I'm incredibly neurotic and now the fun of pin collecting may end up being overwhelmed by my paranoia :confused3
