I just had my first trip to DL, and I wanted to save all the buttons, pins, etc. I received in addition to pictures. Does anyone know where to find a Disney kind of scrapbook that would hold all these items? If not, can you share how you have stored these things?

Thanks!

:goodvibes Hi Hi..

You might try looking at Hobby Lobby.

Have a Happy Weekend,

I bought a scrapbook at the world of disney store that had a page with a pocket on it for storing stuff like that. I'm sure you could find something similar elsewhere.

If you aren't looking for a true scrapbook... they have pin books. I really like mine and it displays them well. We have a separate scrapbook and it just doesn't seem to work well generally to put these big items in there as they are bulky.

If you are talking about the souvenir pins, like 1st visit, goofies kitchen, toon town, etc. There are adhesives that will allow you to insert those into your regular scrapbook pages. Most stuff can go into the regular pages. If you mean the pins that you buy, you would have to remove the posts before you could insert those, as far as I know. I would probably take the items that you want to include in your album and go to a scrapbooking store and see what they recommend. It is amazing how much you can do.

I agree that someone at a scrapbooking store should have some ideas on how to put those items onto a page.

Another idea would be to get some sort of box that is big enough to hold both your scrapbook and the pins and buttons and anything else you collect. Then you can have everything together but you won't have to try to figure out how to put the bulky things on a page. You could even decorate tags to hang from the bulky items and do a little journaling about each one so that it's not just a random thing in a box. And of course, you could also decorate the box!

I don't like bulky scrapbooks, so I've been bewildered by a box of buttons for a year. I finally read an idea that works if you want to display them, which involves wide ribbons and putting the buttons on the ribbons, then hanging them somewhere. Sounds boring written like that, but it lends itself to personalization and your own creativity. I haven't yet done it (can't make up my mind) but I like the idea anyway!

As for pins, we just keep those on lanyards for future trips.

But Dangermouse posted, on another thread, that her kids display their pins in their rooms. They have embroidery hoops with black fabric, and they use 3 of the hoops; one big, two little, in the shape of Mickey's head. :)

But obviously those won't work if you really want them put away in a scrapbook.

There's also the shadowbox idea that I think someone else mentioned. :)
