Day 10
22nd Feb

Spent the morning by the pool, after being overcharged for breakfast and then removing the automatic 17 ½ %tip as the service was horrendous. Coach picked us up at 12pm and we were on the Golden Princess having lunch by 2pm. Security was very tight again. We sailed at 5pm. At 4.55 we were missing a suitcase so we phoned the purser who located it. It had been opened and searched. I know because some jewellery was loose in the case, not in the jewellery box. Thank goodness the dirty washing was in a different case!

Day 11 & 12
23 & 24th Feb
At Sea

Hot, humid, lay by the pool. Ate too much and kept getting lost on the ship.

Day 13
25th Feb

St Maarten
Woke up and opened the curtain to find us pulling in to the opposite side of the key to the Magic. ( note to Mark and Mandy if you are on the left side of the ship Keep your curtains closed!!! You can see right in.)
The boys were excited to see it.
DS2 hadnt been well the last 2 days so I had to take him to the doctor, we kept him dosed with antibiotic and tylenol for the rest of the holiday. Tylenol cost $9 a bottle here!!!
We went to Dawn beach that morning. DM & DD had been 5 years before and said it was much more commercial, although it was still gorgeous. We rented a surf board and all the children played.
In the pm we went into Philipsburg which was busy ( 5 ships in that day) it was too hot for us (84) and we didn’t see any good shops unless you were buying diamonds or booze. The water taxi was $5 for all day use.
That evening we had dinner with more american friends of ours who coincidentally had booked the same cruise.
DS2 was being stubborn afterwards in the cabin and wouldn’t take the tylenol as he didn’t like the taste, so he threw up. We told the steward and he immediately got on the phone and Mum appeared ½ an hour later to find us being sanitised, the doctor phoned, the shower room was disinfected and we couldn’t use it for 2 hours, the walls were washed down in our cabin. It was hilarious, even the english nurse laughed when I told her it was purely a temper tantrum that caused it. It is good to see that they take the possibility of Norwalk Virus seriously though.

Sounds like a great time on the ship :) Funny that you kept getting lost ;)

........ what a pity your younger son wasn't well.
We had the same problem with Tylenol when our DS2 was younger - he hated it and wouldn't take it despite a high fever.

They took extraordinary measures after he was sick! But as you say, I suppose they had to!

Thanks for the wonderful report - luv reading them!!!!
