I forgot to mention a story about the trip down. While we were flying we had a smooth flight until the Carolinas. Then we were told to put seat belts on because a few rough patches were coming. Okay. Mine never comes off. 5 minutes later, Robert the flight attendant gets on the speaker and says to sit down and buckle up as it is about to get very extremely bumpy. I got so nervous. I hate flying. The bumps lasted less than a minute and it was nothing. I was so mad.

Okay now let’s carry on.
We were off the bus and on our way inside. I love walking into the lobby, so pretty. I had done online check in and requested “near a pool” and “Grandstand section”. On the way down we discussed we also wanted a higher floor. I forget the name of the CM that helped us but I think we made him nervous. He gave us our package and showed us on the map where we would be and the room was not ready. I asked what floor and was told the first. “No”. I said. I asked if we could get a room higher up and he made a phone call. This call took about 10 – 15 minutes but we did get a room in the Grandstand by the pool and guess what? The room is available now. Vinny could not understand this. Anyway the room was in a section not yet renovated but we didn’t care.
We went to the room. Put our carry-ons in there and relaxed. Around 11:30 we headed out.

This is where the first shock came from Vinny. As we walked he said it was so long since we had been there. I said “6 months” and he said it felt longer. Yep he has the Disney bug.
Saratoga is themed after Saratoga NY and so the resort has a horse racetrack feel. I love it.

I see the balloon is up and working again. Will I be able to get on it at night?

We walked by this. We will back later in the day for this.

We opted for DTD. Get a quick bite and look around. Looking out from the boat dock at SSR.

Vinny broke out in a rash. We think it was from shaving.

Our boat has arrived.

“Welcome Home” sign backwards. LOL. I thought it looked good.

Then of course I had to take it from the front. LOL

Passing others along the way. I love this way to get somewhere at Disney. Slower but so relaxing.

Looking over at SSR. I believe this is where Congress Park begins. Also the area I saw a black snake go across the path the first time we stayed here.

I have never eaten at this Planet Hollywood.

We still have not made it over here to see this show. One day.

One day I will rent a boat just to motor around.

The balloon was up. This is the new balloon. It has new characters and they are taking more safety procedures towards it. The way it can sway is SCARY. More on that later.

And we have made it.

I think this is a good place to stop.

An OT funny story...we owned at SSR (when it was brandy new) and we hunted for that boat to DTD forever never found it...found it on the way back at least...yup we WALKED to DTD...and I am NO athlete..must have been Disney Magic that got me there Our kiddos loved the pool, and we really liked SSR! We sold our points after we "outgrew" them (we only had 200 points, we were a family of 4 then, not 7 )

me too. I get scared flying. LOL
the 2 requests were met in the first but when I asked about the higher floor that is what held us up but we only requested it when we got there.
Funny story about points being that also comes later in the trip.
It is a nice way to spend the first day.
Well no more week long trips.

You should see about renting points there one day. Grandstand is great. Close to restaurant and the first pick up and first drop off on the bus.

That plane announcement would scare me. I love SSR, so much nicer than OKW, the boat ride to downtown Disney is one of my favorite things about SSR.

I thought I would be able to be on the computer the last couple of months, but I hurt my ankle Zip Lining in WI Dells. My ankle started swelling, every time I sat down in front of the computer.

Your Title of the this TR should be, "I spotted Waldo", I mean Scotty and Vinny!


Plan a trip for April-I just got the okay to add some days before my dh convention. April 13-21st.

It always feels like I haven't been to Disney in forever when I return, even if I was only there the month before. That truly is the Disney bug. Glad Vinny caught it.

The best thing about Saratoga Springs is the proximity to DTD.

I love SSR! We stayed there in 2008 and that was such a great trip. We were in Congress Park in a bottom floor room facing the water, and every time I see someone post a picture of SSR taken from DTD or the water, I always look for our room.

I'm glad you got your room request. Loved SSR when we stayed there in 2011, we were in Congress Park. I am SOO happy that there is a new Balloon!! Now I have another chance to get on it!

We stayed there but we were facing the bus stop. Congress Park is really nice but not peaceful like Grandstand. CP is good if you want to walk to DTD.
