Scott & Vicki's Art Deco Wedding and Disneymoon May 29, 2011 *Wedding Day Report!

I checked at the online store and they don't carry the sequins headband ears just the other ones I guess they might still have them in the parks, but they could be phasing them out just like the Top Hats I am not sure, they should have some kind of hat for the bride and groom for you. You just went in December??? Where's your trip report girl??? :goodvibes

Haha, that was before I was on here! But I'm debating on putting up a trip report.. may write it somewhere first and then post so that I can do it on and off and it'll all be in one post ha.

Just an FYI they actually still have the headband sequin bride ears. I purchased them when I was down there in December. =]

and I think my DF is the only one who actually can't wait to wear his tuxedo ears! lol. He's a nut.. he doesn't like the top hat ones for some reason? I actually prefer them. But oh well..

Good to know! I'm thinking MAYBE I will get the chance to visit DTD when I go to Orlando in July... actually that's an interesting story because his uncle is organizing a family trip to Orlando, and they want to spend one day in Disney (I'm not sure which park yet), one day in Universal, one day just hanging out at the hotel pool, etc. DF and I actually don't want to go to Disney with them because we'll be back for our honeymoon two months later, and we'd like our first time in Disney together to be special for our honeymoon, not just one random day in July. I can't believe I'm actually passing up the chance to go to Disney! But we were thinking about doing to DTD that day instead while they are at the parks. We shall see, but if we go I'm def looking for those ears!

Hey All! I had my first dress fitting today!!! I put all my accessories on that I have received in the mail so far so I could get an idea of the look. Here are the pics:

I am sooo jealous! This was what I wanted to do for my send off but unfortunately, Disney won't let you have the fire. Boo! And I love this picture!

I hope we can do some cute pics like this, I am going to add this to the picture list so hopefully we can do something like this :)

Brooch Bouquet: Part 2

Hey all so here is part two to the brooch bouquet.

Take your feather trim and make a small layer around the base of the the handle gluing it down as you go, once you make one layer cut it and do another layer lining the first layer and so on until you have created three layers or rings of. (Doing these layer creates fullness). This is just how I did it to add the feathers, but you might be able to find an easier way by researching online.

Take your ribbon and wrap your bouquet with it, what I did was glue the ribbon down as I went with a small dot here and there so it wouldn't bleed through. Once you get to the top cut it and fold the raw end under and glue down with a bead of glue.

Once you glue down the raw end, take about two pearl end pins and stick them into the bouquet handle at an angle. This decorates the ribbon and also provides a back up in case you glue fails to keep the ribbon in place.

Take your rhinestone cuff and measure it around the point of the bouquet that you need. Mark where you need to cut with a pencil. Take your Exacto knife and cut the mark you made until the extra falls off. Hot glue the cuff in place.

Your bouquet is complete!

:teacher: My Notes

The original directions states to use 1 or 2 wires per brooch depending on the size and weight of your brooch, but I found it easier to always use 2 regardless of the weight because it provides extra support.

When wiring the brooches there is no right our wrong way to do it, you will find yourself guessing a lot on where to put the wires. If your brooch has no back you can add a pin post that you find at craft stores and use that to wire through, if you are going to use that technique make sure to glue the pin shut so it doesn't open on you.

Happy Bouquet Making!!!
