As the title says, I somehow scored a PPO reservation at BOG. Wasn't expecting this at all but put it into reservation finder on Touring Plans 'just in case'. What is your advice on how to make the most of this coveted ressie, as in rides to ride or things to do? Our reservation is at 8:05 on a 9am park opening day. We are willing to eat fast if that means we can do something/anything before the park opens.

Congratulations! You get to experience 7 Dwarfs Mine Train before Rope Drop (maybe even do this twice within the first half hour 9-9:30am).

I will suggest you do 1 7 Dwarfs Mine Train at 8:50-8:55am and then go to Peter Pan's Flight for maximum efficiency.

You will miss the 5 minute opening show at the castle if you do the rides but it is better I think.

Congratulations. We had a similar reservation time and park opening. Arrive at BOG at 8:00. Best advise is to take advantage of Pre-Ordering. That was really helpful and got us in to BOG with no problem, while others were waiting at registers to order. There were six of us, and our food came quickly. We didn't have to rush. Enjoyed the atmosphere and our breakfast and took the left over pastries in plastic bags I had brought with me. We looked in on the other rooms and hit the restrooms before we left to line up for 7 Dwarf Mine Train about 7:45. We were maybe 20 or so back and were held outside the ride. We didn't rush at all. It was a EMM morning. They let the Standby line into 7dwafts about 5 to 10 minutes before park opening. The RD crowd were about to arrive when we go off. We could have quickly gotten back in line, but instead headed quickly to Peter Pan. We joined the crowd starting to come thru the castle. We again waited outside PP for not more than 5 minutes then the crowd started moving through the standby queue. We were not particularly close to PP when we lined up, but the line moved quickly as there were not any FP users right at 9:00 am. After riding PP we headed back to Winnie the Pooh and rode after a short wait. I would say we were probably out by 9:20. We all really enjoyed getting a jump on the crowds. It was great.

Arrive at MK no later than 7:30, go to the far left tapstyle and a cast member will check you in. You will be allowed to enter at approximately 7:45, followed by everyone without PPO ADR just a few moments later now that Main Street opens an hour early for the opening show at the castle. As you approach the castle go to your left and a castmember will let you in on the walkway toward Liberty Square to the left to walk to BOG. Pre order your food so you won't have to wait in the food ordering line. When you are finished go out to where a cast member will eventually let you go on 7DMT for at least one ride before the crowds arrive at 9. After that, go on as many attractions as possible before your first Fast Pass+. Sometimes MK opening can change to 8am, or EMH, or EMM can be added, so hopefully the 9am opening doesn't change.

This is excellent advice that covers several important details, in my humble opion. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much to each of you! This is basically a first time trip for us and I am still trying to figure out all the tips and tricks! As of now, no EMM for the day we have our reservation.

My primary advice would be to keep an eye on park hours, since Disney tends to change them even very close to your trip. If they open the park at 8am your PPO will no longer be PPO. This has happened to me before, so I just wanted to mention that you need to keep an eye on it. I absolutely love the PPO breakfast at BOG and have done it with a ride on Mine Train then Peter Pan right after before the crowds flood in. Enjoy and good luck!

So if you have a PPO reservation at 8:45 and park opens at 9:00, are you able to get on any rides before the crowd?

You leave BOG by 8:40 and line up by 7DMT. You'll get to ride it once or twice without a wait. Then go to Peter Pan, and ride it standby with only a short wait. After that, I recommend walking directly to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain standby, as not many people go to Frontierland at rope drop. Getting those 4 rides done without FPs is very helpful at MK.

Only if the PPO reservation is for BOG. Then follow my directions in my post #4 above. You don't have to wait until 8:45. You can get in to BOG as soon as it opens.

You probably need to be on the line at SDMT by around 840 in order to be one of the first few trains. We were probably about 20 people back when we got on a 840 and each train holds 20 people or so. By the time they led us over to the entrance (on a non-EMM morning), the line was probably 80-100 people. We were the second or third train (we asked to sit in the last row) and it looks like we were on the ride by around 855. By the time we got off our ride, the rope drop line was there and a second ride was not in the cards.

As long as they don't change up your park hours, your PPO reservation is good from 745 on. You don't need to wait until your reservation time. We checked in at 8 for our 835 reservation and they let us right in. Pre-ordering is helpful (even more helpful at lunch) in getting you in and out faster.

The suggestion to go to PP and then to Frontierland is an excellent one. We did that one morning and were done with all four rides before 10 a.m. If you then schedule two FPs for something like 915-1015 and then 1015-1115 (we did Jungle Cruise and Pirates because they were relatively close by), you can hit two more rides using FP in quick succession. Granted even at 10 a.m. FP might not be necessary, but it saved us a few minutes and after boarding Pirates at around 1030, we moved our 3rd FP (Haunted Mansion) up from 1115 to 1030 and hit that afterwards. After that, we could start searching for a 4th FP, etc.
