Just stopped by on a whim this morning (looking for a replacement coffee pot for our coffee maker) and WHAM.... found Fiesta Ware! It was kind of scattered all over the store, but I think I got it ALL! 11 pieces total including 4 serving bowls, 1 13" platter, a bread plate, sauce boat, and a few dinnerware pieces....

went on to Macys.com to do the math and discovered that the full retail price would be $311.00 and I paid a grand total of.... (drum roll please :lmao: )

$40.38!!!!!

Now I"m not gonna get whacky and state that I "saved" 270.62 because there is no way I would have bought all of this and I would NEVER have paid full retail price. But WOWZA, I'm excited! I'm going to keep the pieces I really want/need and try to sell the rest through my FB yardsale sites.

Just wanted to share with some fellow penny-pinchers and bargain hunters!
Wish me luck!..........P

Awesome! I saw two purple plates last week for .99 each but I already have a ton of fiestaware in my garage that needs to go away...need to get it listed on craigslist/fb.

Just out of curiosity, what color?

That is awesome!! I've been collecting Fiesta Ware for about 15 years or so! I collect all different colors! :) That is awesome that you found so many pieces at Goodwill!

There is a huge sale ever year in WV where it is made. I scored pieces there that were normally $75 for $10.

Wow, I can understand your excitement. I, too, 'hit the jackpot' a few years ago. I often just stop in as it's convenient, (have three stores fairly close) and you just never know when the luck will hit you. I got '20' dinner plates for .99 ea. They were all different colors mixed - I was so excited, as this was just what I was wanting. Love to set the table with all the different colors. Have since found some cereal bowls and saucers there and on craigslist. Found 3 dessert bowls recently.

If you ever want a fun weekend trip, Homer Laughlin China has a sale twice a year... they sell their seconds(which many you can't even tell what is wrong with them). Seconds are usually half off... then for these two weekends, they are additional half off. My uncle used to be head of security, people come from all over the country. You will love this one, at our local Italian festival, the bring in the seconds that Homer Laughlin donates... and you can toss dimes to win them. I have bucketfulls in my bases of odd and end pieces my kids have won. Glad you had a great find, always fun!

I go to these sales both dates and have a ball! I've brought home BOXES and completely furnished my kitchen with nothing but fiesta ware :) I've gotten so much I don't bring much home anymore but the prices are worth the drive for me :) they have sales in Newell and Flatwoods WV

When are these sales? Would love to go sometimes.

WOOHOO!!! Great job Pamela!

Now, get DH to check to make sure the cabinets can hold that much fiestaware. A lady on 2peas had her entire cabinet fall off the wall due to short screws and to much weight.

Thanks!

Oh my! I'd love some of the purple for my Mom! I have a few pieces of the darker plum, but would love to get her some of the (retired) Lilac! Wish you were closer.... I'd totally come check out the FW in your garage!

The bread platter is sea mist (the retired color), the serving bowls are turquoise, tangerine, scarlet, and sunflower, the jumbo mugs are white, rose, and shamrock, the gravy boat is white, the large round platter is scarlt, and the oval platter is .... just checked... it is ALSO a retired color... chartreuse.

I've heard about that before.... just too far away. Besides.... I love the "thrill" of the hunt! Most of my dinner ware was purchased at Macy's on sale, with coupons, etc for my birthday a few years ago. But the rest of it has been gifts, GW/consignment store finds, and a few FB yard sales.

great find!!

Thank you!

Wow! What a great find!

THanks!

Love it! The .99 is a STEAL for the plates! I too set the table with a rainbow! I do have my "favorite" colors and everyone in the family has a color that they like best, but I really mix and match.

Sounds like a great time!

I would love to have more pieces to decorate my entire kitchen!

Honestly, I've had that thought before. ALL of my dinner ware is in the same cabinet and that stuff is HEAVY! Maybe it is time to do a bit of re-arranging so that it isn't all hanging from the same 4 screws!

****************

Just wanted to update that my grand total has gone UP! I thought that the plate I had was just a dinner plate, but it is actually an 11.75" platter/charger. Brings my total retail price up to $325! WOOHOO! Now off to select the "keepers" and post the rest for sale!...................P

Oh I love the thrift store just for this reason. I stopped buying dish sets many moons ago. So if some one breaks a plate no big deal.

My sil just cannt do it because they are used and they don't match, but I love them and they are dirt cheap.

Just an update to say that I have sold three pieces of the Fiesta Ware and have pocketed $35.... just another $5 and change I will have paid for the entire batch, meaning that the pieces I kept are FREE!

I also sold a BUNCH of stuff this week on a Disney FB yard sale and pocketed $100 (profit margin was good on this too) ! And I dug out MORE Disney stuff to post today!

I'll be putting part of this "found" money into my emergency fund and using part of it to buy Christmas gifts!..............P
