Making last minute packing decisions. Need peoples input and experiences.

Here goes... We are family of 5, 3 boys, 11 9 & 6. Tent camping, not bringing bikes. We have adult razor scooters (way cool if I so say so myself, lol) Debating on how much use the scooters would get. Not renting golf cart either. I'm thinking I would just rather walk around and not have to worry about where the scooters are at. Bringing all 5 would take up a good chunk of room. Last time we camped DH and I didn't use our scooter. Boys like to ride ours all the time. (Bigger wheels nicer ride ;) ) If the scooter will only be used for the boys to tinker around then I will just bring our 2 big scooter with 1 of the kids. If it would serve us well for transporting the whole family around the grounds I will bring all 5. Just trying to make a little extra room.

Thoughts?:confused3

TIA :goodvibes

I can't speak for how much use you would get but here is a link to the approved scooter types so you can check if what you have can be used at the Fort and where. Scroll down towards the bottom of the document:

The link didn't work. But gosh I would never have thought a scooter wouldn't be allowed. It's just a Razor scooter. I would think if bikes were allowed scooters would be. There isn't a motor on it or anything. :confused3

They're approved. I say if you can fit them in, take them.

The rule that doesn't make sense is "no ripsticks". We're currently looking for electric scooters for my kids to ride, but they've always ridden ripsticks. And were very respectful on them. We've finally given up after being lectured so many times.

I cannot tell you the amount of kids on electric scooters almost being hit crossing the roads without looking and going so fast and almost knocking people off the sidewalks, but they are allowed. Here are the official rules of what is and what is not allowed.

Skate boards arn't allowed, seriously?:confused3 This is our older son (17)
preferred method of transportation!

1) This is because skateboards are not easily controlled in pedestrian traffic.
. . . paths are too narrow for walkers an dskateboarders
. . . skateboards seldom go 100% straight
. . . with opne foot on and one foot off, absolute control is difficult
2) Plus, skateboarders usually do not stay on paths.
3) They *usually* are found in roadways.
4) This does not even mention the tricks they do.
5) If they were allowed and the kids hurt themselves, big liabilities come into play.

We always have 2 scooters, one for my DD and one for a friend she will bring. I am not sure if I have seen electric scooters, ours are larger razor styles that fold for easy storage. They are great and fun, they ride them to the pool or store, we lay out the rules and they follow them, because it is better then walking!! :lmao:

These are like our scooters except ours are red. DH and I bought these for ourselves and the kids have taken them over. They WAY love them over the kid version of the razor scooter. Going to have to ask the grandparents to help get big scooters for all at christmas :thumbsup2
