Just wondering we are taking my parents to WDW and will be renting an ECV for my father, even though my mother gets around pretty good I'm afraid she will tire easily walking beside my father all day long. Is it possible to rent a scooter with a little seat in back for my mother?
Thanks, Terriann:confused:

I know Disney does not have any. Also, in some of the magaines where I have seen ECV ads I have never seen one shown.

A little over a year ago I saw a person in a Power Chair with a small (about one foot on a side) trailer which hooked onto his chair, and his wife stood on that and held onto the handles on the back of the chair. My wife and I discussed this with him, and he said it was definitely a custom accessory.

You might want to check with an off-site rental company. I have seen pictures of a two-passenger ECV, but it would require a special vehicle lift and would not fit on public tranportation and apparently could not be easily broken down to fit into a car's trunk.

An option might be to, if your mother needs it, do short-term wheelchair rental with pushing. My wife and I try to get a midday break daily, adn also I keep the ECV speed down to her pace (unless she is sending me on an errand).

My solution is to use 2 ECV's!! the heavier the load the shorter the time you have on the battery.

I saw a lady at Sea World last week with a scooter with a little seat on the back. My dad has a scooter and says he saw them too but the one he looked at had a weight limit.

I have seen them too, but all the ones I have seen were someone's personal scooter, not a rental.
I haven't seen any of them in lines and the ones I have seen looked too large to fit into most lines.

Renting 2 ecvs or renting an ecv and a wheelchair are probably the best options if your dad needs it all the time and you think she won't be able to keep up.
