Scooter suggestions?

My MIL will be joining us for our trip next month....her 1st time! She has arthritis and needs a scooter. I asked about this a month ago on another forum but never wrote down the suggestions. We're looking to rent from an off property company so she has it at the resort. Suggestions please.

Just to note... the sticky thread mentions both the "Featured Vendors" as well as other vendors. The difference is whether or not they can utilize Bell Services for pick-up/return; it does not necessarily designate one is "better" than another. SueM has included some feedback on those we hear the most about.

I've used Apple once and had a horrible experience. Have used Buena Vista multiple times since then and never had a problem. I use the portable scooter since we always have a car so we can take it apart and load it in, although when I have my own minivan, my husband just takes the seat off and then puts the whole scooter in assembled.

And I've used Buena Vista twice and had horrible experiences both times and used Apple multiple times and had great experiences! LOL And that's the problem with asking for recommendations! I think you will find positive and negative reports for just about every company. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw

Walker Mobility Rentals is the best in my book. If she is smallish, rent the pink princess lighterweight. She will have a blast with its speed.

Look at their reviews with the BBB. They don't have to belong to the BBB to have a good rating. 2 of the companies named above have excellent ratings and one has a very poor rating and of the 3 only one is a member of the BBB. When I read the reviews, I would be concerned the one of those companies has so many unresolved complaints. To me, that would be a huge red flag. Just my .02.

We just returned and used Best Price Mobility. Scooter was waiting for us at bell services at the resort, and we dropped it off before we left. On the third day, we had a problem with the scooter - it kept just stopping for no reason. I called them as we were leaving the park for the day, and they delivered a new one to the resort within 90 minutes. Really great service and price.
