My family is going to WDW in October, and my sister and i will need to rent mobility scooters. Someone posted there is a sticky thread with a list of rental companies and reviews. For the life of me, i can't find it. Can someone give me the link?

When we went two years ago, our health was better. But i know we won't make it on our own now. We are both less stable on our feet. But i think we will be able to park our scooters and wait in line for rides we want. i assume there are parking spots outside each ride for strollers and scooters?

Trying to read up on what problems we may face. There are some rides i know i won't be able to go on - anything super fast or jerky. But there are some rides i really want to go on, like Haunted Mansion, but worried about getting into and out of a moving car. Did i read they will slow it down or stop it so you can get in and out? Is there a thread on this board on what rides will accommodate slower folk by slowing down or stopping a moving car?

Thanks! So looking forward to this vacation.

Here is the link to the disAbilities FAQ sticky: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=595713
and the information you want about ECV rentals is in post #2.

Scooters can be parked in stroller parking (and occasionally they have even created scooter parking areas) so you may walk. Keep in mind that once you enter a queue, there likely will be no place to sit, and no guarantee on how long you'll be in line (regardless of length or the standby time listed). Most queues at WDW are mainstreamed, meaning you can ride your scooter right through the line; those that aren't will direct you to 1) an alternate entrance or 2) to use a wheelchair provided by the attraction, or you may choose to park your scooter and walk the queue.

You may request that the moving walkways be slowed (or stopped). I advise you to mention this to the first CM you see and not wait until you are at the boarding area because sometimes that control is elsewhere so the CM at loading can't help much. Peter Pan and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover are the only rides where the moving walkways cannot be stopped or slowed. More details about accessing rides/attractions is in the sticky as well.

Enjoy your vacation!
