Scooter Rental Recommendation

Can someone give a recommendation on a electric scooter rental?

I was ready to order from Walker Mobility, had credit card in hand, but the man who identified himself as the owner was so rude to me I didn't complete the order.

I had spoken to a woman earlier who was polite and answered my questions fully, so I am surprised at the difference in quality of professionalism.

Everyone else I've worked with in arranging the airline, accomodations, and Disney tickets have been great so I am hoping this is an isolated incident.

We plan to go to Disneyworld and rent a scooter for a few days. Is it better to rent a scooter in advance, or plan to rent inside the gates?
Thanks for your assistance!

A few years ago we went with my Dad and his friend and they rented them from Randy's Mobility. I think they're in Orlando. We called ahead and reserved them and they delivered them when we got to our hotel. They showed them how to use them. Then they came and picked them up when we were leaving. I think it cost about $400 for 10 days. It worked out really great. It worked out much better than getting them at the parks. One day, the first time we went to WDW ,MK was out when we got there. It was really tough pushing a wheelchair around all day. That's when we decided to go to Randys for the next visit. You can find more info on the Disabilities Board.

Another vote for Randy's. I used Walker for first couple of times I needed a scooter at WDW but switched to Randy's because the price was better. I believe the 12 days I rented from them last May, I paid around $250.

They are a very nice group of people and bring the scooter right to your room. Here's a link to their website.

Interesting! I rented from Walker this time. I almost didn't
because the very nice woman was very slow making my
reservations and I had to call back. The 2nd time, I got
the guy(probably the owner). He was efficient, factual and
businesslike - I liked that. I'm weird, I don't like talkative,
overly friendly folks taking orders on the phone. I like to get
down to business and move on to something else. Randy's
price has always been a little lower but I like the bigger scooters
that Walker rents.

Welcome to the DIS, dreeandfree. :wave2: I don't know anything about scooters, but you might run this question also by the folks on the disABILITIES board here on the DIS, lots of good ideas there. Between here on the Community board and there, you should get good exposure to some thoughts.

Again, welcome, dreeandfree.
