Scooter rental question about Randys Mobility

What model scooter do they use as their standard scooter rental?

If I need the scooter delivered around 12-1pm and not picked up until 5pm the following week....will I get an extra charge for the late pickup? Some places I found give you the whole day and some charge a 1/2 day rental.

I'm sorry I really can't answer either of your questions.

I do know that a lot of the vendors are tending toward using the Pride Celebrity-X as the basic ECV for rental.

Probably worth investing in a phone call to ask them.

Randy has at least 2 different ones that I know about. But can't remember which they are. If you call he will be happy to tell you. I will see if I can find any good pics of the one I rented. (I think I have one somewhere) It is the one in my sigggy photo, but you can't see it well.


Randy is really pretty flexible. I think as long as you are returning it on that same day that is included in the week he doesn't charge extra. He is extremely nice and if you call his number you will most likely talk to him directly and he will answer all your questions.

Here is the one I got. I specifically asked for one that could be broken down for putting in a car. So this was what he gave me. It was bigger, had a nice fabric and padded seat. I really liked it much better than my friend's small one. But it ended up to be a royal pain to break down, and the smaller one (above) was actually easier to put in the car so I took the bus and she took the car!

I did call them and spoke to someone named Adam I think. He said they use the Amigo RD scooters as the standard. Anyone have opinions on the Amigos?

Hi, all! I am new to these boards, but I have used scooters for quite a while. When I have had to use one other than my own, I have been unhappy with the cloth seat offered by some of the rental companies. It is great in the beginning, but as soon as it gets a little wet from our daily showers, it is a nasty thing to sit on! My husband (6' & 225 lbs.) uses a Pride Victory 10 that breaks down really easy and is not hard to handle in pieces. I'm smaller (5' & 115 lbs.) and I use a Pride Revo. I can load it myself with the seat off and the batteries lifted out. Piece of cake. I would look for a company that has these scooters and ask about their rental policies for a week. Good luck

I am not sure of the model but it was great. I was also able to take off the seat and fold down into the trunk of a Nissan Sentra we rented. It carried with great power someone almost 200 lbs, I am not sure I know how to search this forum, but I had a coupon posted for a $10 off week rental. Maybe a search for Randy's mobility coupon.
Also call and find out about the time, I am not sure if it is a problem, they come and demonstrated how to use and breakdown.

Then come and pick back up.If there is going to be a fee maybe you can use the resort wheelchair if you are staying at one.

I liked the Amiga (in part because it's green - not conservation-green, but actual deep green in color)! Adam is great, and so is Randy's overall service.

Mine did not come apart, but that would be because (a) I only reserved it two days in advance and (b) I did not request one that could be disassembled.

I was there in September and rented from Randy's. I ended up using both the Pacesaver Passport and the Amigo (I had to stay over and extra two days on accident, so I gave up the first one and had to get a different one). The pacesaver passport is the one that breaks down (we thought we were getting a car and going to the um, "other theme park" in Orlando, but we're Disney fanatics so ha ha ha, we didn't go, we stayed at Disney the whole time). The amigo has a sharper turning radius, goes slightly faster, and seems a little more "stable". The Passport has more leg room (which came in handy) and a VERY COMFY seat. It is slightly slower, but overall went at a good clip when I needed it to. The seat wobbles a bit because it's made to come apart, but it's not so bad you think you're going to fall over or anything. It also has a slightly bigger turning radius. With the Amigo, you have to watch your legs if you're turing sharp. I always seemed to run the basket into my legs somehow. Both held a charge all day, through numerous park hops, bus rides, and other stuff.
