Going to WDW Thanksgiving week, and renting a scooter off-site. On our MK day (Friday after Turkey Day) we have lunch plans at the Lodge. I would like to just leave the scooter parked and ride the boat over. Is there a safe spot-perhaps under the train station?

A friend of mine did just that ( but i am unsure of where exactly she left it). She did say that she asked a CM and they told her of a good safe spot. Be sure to take your key ( duh)

I would suggest checking with the people at the scooter rental in MK. They might move it inside and store it for you while you are having lunch at WL by boat.

Thanks, folks. I'll check with someone at the rental booth.

I don't mean to be rude in any way - but - don't you need it when you go to dinner? I just don't "get it". You will be walking there also.

I think that the OP may be one of the many people that can walk for shorter distances but when it come to walking ( or standing) for long periods of time or long distances then they need the aid of a scooter ir chair.

There's a big difference between walking to dinner and walking up to ten miles a day at the parks.

No offense taken--I'm a third grade teacher so I'm used to questions. Yes, I can handle the walk to the Lodge boat and up to the lodge. Especially if I baby the 'bum' knees the rest of the day. :teacher:

Retired music teacher here. Sorry - I do ask a lot of questions.

I "get it" now. Some can do a little, but not a lot.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't thinking straight. :goodvibes

I just wanted you to know that you can take the scooter on the boat with you. You just need to take the larger boat. It comes every other one. It is a pretty good walk from the boat dock to the lodge and I wanted you to be aware of the option of taking your scooter.

i second taking scotter with you on larger boat. i have taken on boat many times. i would feel better having scooter with me that leaving it somewhere. CM's can not watch it for you and you will be responable for anything that happens to it.

That's true, unfortunately. :confused3 We do what we can but I park lots of strollers and ECVs a day, lol

Best bet (after taking it with you on the big boat) is to take all personal belongings out and bring the key with you. I know this probably seems like common sense but people leave their stuff in there and then panic when we move it because they parked it in a bad spot... P.S. Don't hurt me for being the stroller police! ;)
