Scooter Mom - The Final Chapter - Day 4-Part Four - Complete!!

I keep waiting to hear about the new fantasyland .... Did you dine @ BOG ... I guess I will have to wait and see.....

We didn't. The line was all the way to the end of the bridge. And we didn't have an ADR. It is getting mixed reviews and there isn't anything on the menu I think the kids would like.

It was crazy crowded the day we went to MK. It was hard to even take decent photos because there were so many people around. MK was our last day, so you will have to hang around and see :-)

Day 2- Part 1

I had planned on going to Animal Kingdom on this day, but I wasn’t feeling it. So I asked the kids what they wanted to do and they wanted to go to Downtown Disney. They had gift cards from Christmas burning a hole in their pockets and wanted to spend some money. So that is what we did. This day was supposed to be cooler, so we dressed accordingly and headed out. We drove over and parked by the Marketplace.

I need to apologize for most of the photos after this. Apparently, there was a smudge on the camera lens that I didn’t notice all day so some of them are a little hazy. I realized at some point that I needed to clean it, but I am not sure exactly when.

DD wanted to go straight to the Lego store. She loves the new Friends line they have for girls and wanted to get some of those.

DD bought this little tree house set.

Some more Lego photos

DH and DS went over to Goofy’s Candy Company because DS wanted to buy some candy. DD and I went to World of Disney.

DSC05286.jpg

She didn’t get anything, but I got some pajamas.

I didn’t get a picture of them, but I got a DVC discount, so they weren’t too pricey. I hate to try things on at stores, so I just went by the size on the tag and hoped that they fit. Once I got all of the way home, I realized the shirt was the right size, but the pants were actually a smaller size and they had been mismatched. I was able to find the receipt and called the number in the receipt and the CM on the phone was amazingly helpful. She e-mailed me a label that I took to a local UPS store. They gave me a free box to put the pajamas in and off they went. I haven’t received the replacement yet, but the whole process was very easy and I expect to get them in a day or two. So if this ever happens to you, call them up. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was and how friendly they were about me asking for a replacement.

We went to Once Upon a Toy as well, but we didn’t buy anything there.

After that, we met up with DH and DS. DS had gotten a slushie. DH had the camera, so he took some photos like a good disser’s spouse should

DSC06089.jpg

DSC06090.jpg

And DS’s candy. Mostly cherry and blue raspberry Jolly Ranchers.

DSC06092.jpg

Once DD saw his candy, she wanted to get some of her own, so we all went back into Goofy’s Candy Company.

I took some photos while the kids were picking out more candy.

DSC06095.jpg

DS decided he wanted this cupcake

DSC06096.jpg

We got it for a snack credit.

DD got herself a bag of candy.

DSC06101.jpg

And then we headed over to Wolfgang Puck’s Express for some lunch. We always get the same thing here and it never disappoints us.

DH and I split the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf

Both of the kids had their standard Chicken and French Fries

DD got a brownie

And DS got a cookie

We always enjoy our meals here and the service is always excellent. It is, without a doubt, the best CS meal you can get on property.

So I had to scroll real fast by the TT stuff. I'm trying to remain as "in the dark" as I can of the refurb. Trying to keep it as much of a surprise as possible for the next trip...whenever that may be.

That's great you were able to get seated right away at Beaches and Cream. We tried to go in Sept. and I waited until what I thought would be more of an off time. Nope 45 minute wait. Of course the fact that it was as hot as the sun outside probably makes no time an "off" time at an ice cream shop. LOL!

That Dug Vinylmation is too cute! The word on the street is they are cutting back on trading opportunities for them in the parks and resorts. Such a shame.

You'll have to get your DD to explain this whole Lego Friends thing. I see the "shows" on the Disney Channel and I just don't get it. I mean I get the whole "product for girls" thing, and I even get tying in an animated show, but the show seems so random and disjointed.

DS has changed since Thanksgiving. You haven't found that magic growth stopping potion either, huh?

I think we've all had to have the "am I cold enough to spend $60" moment at Disney! (For me, on our most recent trip, the answer was yes!)

Your nachos look really good! We've never had them there, but that's a great snack idea!

Goofy's Candy Company.. :cloud9:

OK. I am interested to see what you think of it. Being the Disney purist you are - I am guessing you won't like it. But we thought it was really cool. We go back March 31-April 5, you know ...if you are planning another trip. Also, we need to do a summer trip and use our water park option on our DVC AP's. Thank you so much for telling me about that deal. It was the best deal EVER !!!

We have always had good luck getting in there. We always go early for dinner like 4:30 or 5:00 PM. We LOVE it there and that Milky Way sundae is to DIE for !! But I know ice cream is touch and go with you, so ......

That Dug Vinylmation is too cute! The word on the street is they are cutting back on trading opportunities for them in the parks and resorts. Such a shame.

We have found that they don't have as many boxes as before. And when we go back to trade at a place we traded at before, they don't have a box there any more. But they can always tell us where to find a box we can trade from.

No and just you wait ..... I will be posting a photo that will blow your mind .......

I was pretty chilly, but I wasn't THAT cold. I knew I had my hoodie back in the room and that it wasn't far. That helped me from spending the money, too.

Your nachos look really good! We've never had them there, but that's a great snack idea!

We made a complete meal out one serving - DH and I shared it.

Goofy's Candy Company.. :cloud9:

I know ..... it is difficult not to go crazy in there

Tricia loves all the new Lego friends ... I haven't seen the tree house..like it !

Nice report so far !!!

I think it is great that they finally have things more girl oriented. I loved Legos when I was younger and I have spent many hours with my kids building and playing.

Thanks !!!

I AM HERE!!!!!

I wish we had your kind of drive to Disney. Nice and quick…well kinda!

Dying over your pictures of the Boardwalk. I NEEED TO STAY THERE.

Your room looks very nice!

I heard that limited time magic thing was awful. Seemed really stupid.

Those nachos look heavenly!

I have heard mixed reviews about Test Track. I can’t wait to try it though.

Your food at Beaches & Cream looks amazing. Noms.

A MILKY WAY SUNDAE?! Why didn’t I know about this?!?!?!?

The bacon warped meatloaf is something I must try someday… just like 500 other things I want to try also…

I AM HERE!!!!!

Hey Meg !!! I am so happy you are here !!

I wish we had your kind of drive to Disney. Nice and quick…well kinda!

It is nice. To tell the truth, I would never get DH to agree to go if we had to fly.

Dying over your pictures of the Boardwalk. I NEEED TO STAY THERE.

You do !! It is amazing !!

Your room looks very nice!

We loved it !! Well..... after the LONG walk down the LONG hallway.

I heard that limited time magic thing was awful. Seemed really stupid.

Yeah, it seemed really lame to me ....meh

Those nachos look heavenly!

They were. We went back and had them again !!

I have heard mixed reviews about Test Track. I can’t wait to try it though.

We thought it was really cool and it is nice not to have to do that stupid preshow.

Your food at Beaches & Cream looks amazing. Noms.

A MILKY WAY SUNDAE?! Why didn’t I know about this?!?!?!?

Noms is RIGHT !! You NEED to get one. Most. Delicious. Sundae. EVER !!!

The bacon warped meatloaf is something I must try someday… just like 500 other things I want to try also…

Another reason to go back, right ??? When are you guys going back ??

All caught up!

The only thing I don't like about the Boardwalk are those long halls, but I do like your room location. I think the standard view rooms are such a bargain and that's an awesome view of ToT!

It looks so warm out with that sunshine! To bad it was chilly.

I agree that WPE is a wonderful deal on the dining plan. Your Beach and Cream burger and ice cream looks pretty darn good, too!

Enjoying your trip so far.

I love the bacon wrapped meatloaf at WPE! I totally agree about it being the best CS there! I love their creme brulee for dessert... We love Boardwalk too - great location. We've had one of those LOOOOONG hallway villas too. Makes for very long trek at the end of the day... Enjoying your TR. :)

I was so glad I had that scooter. That hallway was VERY long !!

It wasn't bad once we had the right clothes on. It was just that first day started out so warm p and then turned on a dime !!

I agree that WPE is a wonderful deal on the dining plan. Your Beach and Cream burger and ice cream looks pretty darn good, too!

Both places are ones we return to time and time again.

Enjoying your trip so far.

Thanks !!

Hey Mary !!! I am so happy you are here !! WPE is the bomb !! We want to try the breakfast there. Even with the long hallway, we loved it there. Thanks !!!

A lot of Disney purists hate the change. But we really liked it. It was very sleek and fun. Is it better that the old ride ??? Not really. But it is just as fun and it isn’t any worse in my opinion. We rode again in the single rider line. DD LOVED it !!
I'm very opinionated about this one... I just haven't got there yet in my TR. :rolleyes1

I really do like the changes, but I like the changes to the queue and pre-show area more than I like the changes on the ride if that makes any sense. The updates to the ride part itself fell a little flat to me. Not necessarily worse, but also not really an improvement. :confused3

Did you ever get a chance to ride it Standby? The design part is a lot more involved in the Standby line than it is in FP.

Beaches and Cream is one of the restaurants that is near the top of my Disney World Bucket List. I really don't have a good reason for having never been there, other than it just hasn't been really convenient for our plans. One of these days...

I'm glad they were so good about the nut allergy and the server took good care of you. Especially with the advice about OOP vs. Dining plan.

Bacon wrapped meatloaf... wow. Bacon is like the chocolate of meats. It makes everything better. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I don't mind opinions

I knew they probably wouldn't change the ride track. But I like how it is rethemed.

It was insanely busy when we were there, so we only rode it with FP's or single rider.

We have always had a good experience there. I highly recommend it. Even if it is just for the ice cream.

The service that last two times we have been there has been incredible.

I ADORE that analogy !! That is an excellent meal, you should put that on your list, too if you haven't already.

Day 2 – Part 2

After our delicious lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express, DD wanted to ride the carousel, so she did that.

DSC06106.jpg

DSC06111.jpg

DSC06112.jpg

She got herself spinning pretty fast.

After that, we headed over to T-Rex. DD wanted to use some of her gift card to do a Build-A-Dino.

DSC06115.jpg

DSC06116.jpg

DSC06117.jpg

DSC06118.jpg

DSC06119.jpg

She got a sabertooth tiger.

DSC06121.jpg

She had to get the baby one to go with it

DSC06123.jpg

DSC06124.jpg

Some shoes

DSC06125.jpg

And this little purse

DSC06223.jpg

Here’s the Birth Certificate

DSC06224.jpg

There is a magnet in the mouth of the momma, so the baby can be carried. It has a magnet, too.

DSC06227.jpg

After that, we decided to head over to Magic Kingdom.

Just as we arrived, it started to rain. And who has two thumbs and left the ponchos back at the room ?? This girl !! Luckily for us, it didn’t rain heavily, but it was a heavy mist for the good part of an hour or so.

DSC06128.jpg

DSC06129.jpg

This CM was telling me I need to get up on the sidewalk. Usually, I respect them and do what they say. But there was no way I was taking that scooter up on the sidewalk on Main Street.

DSC06130.jpg

So we scooted over to Tomorrowland and got a FP for Space Mountain.

Then we rode the Peoplemover.

DSC06308.jpg

Then DD wanted to ride the teacups, so she and DH did that while DS and I waited.

What?!? I'm not a purist, just really opinionated. There are some things one just doesn't mess with -like putting Toy Story characters on IASW. That's just ridiculous. They don't belong..cross promote elsewhere. TT is not one of those things however. I loved all the Tron-esque concept art, so I'm pretty excited to see how it all turned out. I will miss environmental test 7 though. So to sum up, as long as they don't mess with the stuff I have strong nostalgic feelings about, it's all good. After all, it is all about me. :rotfl2:

It figures that our kids actually have the same spring break this year. Oh how I wish I could go then! However, since DD made All-State band, I've had to move our trip to MS to visit my Grandma to spring break. Oh well we will have to work something out to go in the summer! We have four WPF&M options from our first trip still sitting there.

I love that saber tooth tiger your DD made! It has been years since I strolled through the Build-a-Dino store. They didn't have anything that cute then. Places like that are dangerous. I'm sort of glad DD is pretty much past her Build-A-Bear stage. I love that store, and can get into a lot of trouble there.
