Hi.

Is there a scooter place that drops off and picks up from the resort
without our having to be there? I thought it was Gold Mobility but it doesn't look like that is correct? Is it BV Scooters? Do people not like them?

I would prefer we are able to arrive and have it waiting for us at BWVs.

Thank you.

ScooterBug is the only vendor allowed to use Bell Services at WDW resorts for pick-up/return. All other vendors will arrange to meet you in person.

Thank you so much! However, the quick reading I am doing it looks like I should rent from Gold. I'll be with my mom and it is for her and we like the convenience of having it there when we arrive but the reviews of Gold vs Scooterbug has me just deciding to rent from Gold. I appreciate your quick response regarding Scooterbug.

The exact name is Gold Mobility Scooter is this correct? I'm in the process of ordering.
Thank you.

Gold Mobility is who to go with, they will meet you when you arrive and be there to pick up at the time you leave.

Scooter Bug is absolutely terrible, they have an F rating with the BBB and almost all 1 start reviews everywhere. I have no idea why Disney still allows them to be the preferred vendor, except maybe ScooterBug gave them a bunch of money.

Rent from them once and you will understand why, seriously. Their equipment is always in great condition, with batteries that last all day. IF there is an issue (which is very rare), they will come to you (many other companies require you to get the scooter back to the front of the park or back to your resort), even if you are in the middle of the park. They meet on your schedule, not some set of predefined times based on resort like some others do. Although with the labor shortages due to COVID, delivery/pickup times are currently limited to 7 AM to 7 PM (if there is an issue outside these hours after you have taken delivery, they will still assist 24/7, which is something many of the other companies do not do, a lot of the other companies (including ScooterBug) will tell you that you are stuck until 8 or 9 the next morning if you call them after 6 or 7 at night, this is just for initial delivery and pick up)

They provide a lot of extras at no additional charge, including: Ponchos, Shower Caps (to protect the scooter during rain), Damage Waiver, cup holder, phone holder, fan and an additional accessory if you want. On the Victory 10 model they provide the captains chair and no additional cost. And their rates are among the most reasonable of all of the companies.

Their customer service goes above and beyond as well, again, offering assistance 24/7.

TIP: We find it best to text the person that dropped off the scooter rather than calling their number and then if the person says we need to call, we will. Of course, we haven't really had many issues, primarily when they first started offering a Maxima, they were testing a new type of headlight and it wasn't working, but they asked if we were willing to test, in exchange for a discount and we of course did and one other time, there was a battery issue, which in the end turned out was the charger had died and so, we got a new charger and all was well.

I assume the OP is staying at a Disney run resort.
Gold Mobility, and other vendors, can drop off at Swan, Dolphin and Universal hotels. In fact almost all non-Disney run hotels will accept an ECV on behalf of a guest. There is at least one timeshare resort (Westgate?) which, at least at one time, wouldn't even let non-approved vendors on their property to personally deliver a scooter to a guest.

On Thursday, I will begin my first rental from Gold Mobility. I too, liked the convenience of just having the ECV there. However, I gave Scooterbug two chances this year, and neither was good. I each case I received a day refund, but it was still horrible.

I contacted Disney Each time and complained. Basically, they said I don’t HAVE TO RENT from Scooterbug!!

Enjoy your trip, really the difference is night and day. Just remember to charge the scooter every night, it might be possible to get two days out of a charge, by why chance it?

I didn't think that having to meet them made my rental from Gold Mobility inconvenient. But you decide. Every time we texted and when I got off the DME bus, I waited on the nearest bench 5-10 minutes for them. This last time I took an Uber, and since it was July and extremely hot, I waited inside in the lobby air conditioning. They texted me when they arrived and let me know that it would be a few minutes for them to unload the scooter (welcome news since I'm a very slow walker). When I had a scooter dropped off by another company several years ago, bell services had lost my key and I waited almost 1/2 hour while they found a key that would work. So actually, I found GM's arrangement better. And when I returned the scooter, I arranged pick up about 15 minutes before DME arrived, then waited on the same bench I'd used when I arrived. The last couple times, since I've switched to using Uber, I call once my scooter's picked up.

I rented through Gold for this next trip in November for my mom. The price was right, the size was not too big or bulky for her.

I’m seeing a lot of good reviews for them. What has been your experience? Are they friendly when you pick up? Will they teach me the ins and outs?

They will go through everything, even help you adjust the seat, tiller, etc. They are very nice and helpful.

I just rented with them for this past week. Just home last night, actually. I didn't meet them at the resort (stayed at the Swan, so they accept drop offs) but bell services went over the controls with me. It was simple to use, and very easy to use even in the queues. My first ride line with it was Slinky Dog, and by the time I was done with that, I felt like I had it down. The CMs are also very helpful with telling you where to park, and asking if you can walk a little or not to make it right to the ride.

We stayed at Pop 9/29 to 10/3. Rented from Scooterbug and the scooter was with Bell Services when we got to the resort after 3PM.
Scooter was fully charged and we had no problems. DH decided that he didn't need the scooter after the first day using the skyliner
so I used it at Epcot. Pleased with the condition and service.

I guess you have to be pretty confident about how long it will take to get from the airport to the hotel to set up a pickup time in advance.

No, Gold Mobility is in contact with you the night before. Then when you are on your way to your resort, you contact them (the person who contacts you the night before, gives you their personal cell number). Gold Mobility then drives to meet you. You also have that personal phone number to call should you have any questions. You don't need to call the company main number.

I want to rent from Gold Mobility, but our flight doesn't get in until 5:30 p.m. The latest drop off shows 7 p.m. Is there wiggle room? I am not sure how long it will take to get to our resort. We are booked with Mears Connect.

Just reach out to Gold directly - they are very familiar with how long it should take you to get to your Resort. They can tell you if it's a problem or not 🙂
