Hi all :). I am really torn up on what to do about my upcoming trip in two weeks. I have had a lot of knee problems in the last year and my mobility has gone way down. I just got steroid shots earlier this week. I have noticed a great deal of improvement on my right but my left still hurts some.
I love being able to walk around the parks without worrying about using a scooter but am worried that with my current problems that may not be the best idea.

Should I go ahead and try to go without a scooter or rent one from an offsite provider and use as needed? I really don't want to pay the much higher rates in the park.

Also, for those of you who have had steroid shots, do they continue to improve or are the immediate results the best I'm going to get?

THANK YOU, so much for any advice!:goodvibes

I think if it was me, I would rent from an off site company just to be sure that if I did need it I had one for sure. I wouldn't take the chance of one being available when I needed it and end up paying more for it besides.

Thanks Peemag. I think I am going to have to just face facts :sad2:. I have reserved a scooter from Apple. I am hoping I don't run over too many feet lol.

Just keep the scooter in slow mode and watch the people around you and you will do fine. I know the way you feel. Last May I took my scooter (same type that Apple rents) to WDW and found that after very little time I could read people's body movement and could react proactively. It really was not a bad experience at all.

As far as buses, when you are backing it up to load, turn up the speed just a little bit to help the rear wheels up the incline. Then just turn the speed back down.

Are you renting the 3 or 4 wheel model? I have the 3 wheel model and find it very easy to manuever.

Thanks for the advice :). I will keep that in mind when I am scooting around the world.

I reserved the four wheel model because it had a more generous weight window and I didn't want to take a chance on dragging down a battery :rolleyes1.

I understand that! I have not had any issue with this with mine and I am close to the weight limit, but my battery gets charged properly all the time and isn't getting the daily use that I'm sure some of them are.
