Scooter at OKW

I just booked a studio at OKW for March. I know not all buildings have elevators and we will either need and elevator or a 1st floor room with the scooter. I called DVC MS yesterday to tell them about the scooter and to request a room that would accomodate it. I was told that it would be noted but not guaranteed. Has anyone had any experience with this at OKW? I don't know if I shold book a different resort or wait until our check-in day and hope we can get a room to accomodate the scooter

Call MS back and tell them to note that the request is for "medical reasons" and that you are traveling with a mobility scooter.

This is what we did and it worked out great. We had a nice room not too far from the hospitality house that was on the first floor.

I always request first floor for medical and have never had a problem at any Disney resort I do call the week before and the day before to verify a few times my request mysteriously disappeared but was corrected when I called

Since most of the buildings at OKW are only 2 floors, even without a request, you have close to a 50:50 chance of getting first floor.
All of the fist floor rooms would accommodate an ECV (door and hallway size).
Many people actually request NOT to be on ground floor at OKW in order to get a view where they are not looking over bushes (there is a lot of vegetation around the buildings).

I agree with the other posters - make the request and specifically state it is "for medical reasons".
We now get an accessible room with a roll in shower for about the last 8 years. but, we have been DVC members at OKW since 1993 and just requested ground floor for most of those years with no problem.

Agree with the other posters; request a first floor room or elevator access for medical reasons. Have not had any issues with them the times we have been there.
