Science Careers at Disney

Hi there.
I am a graduate student in biology and am beginning to think about the future. Just recently- I don't know why it took so long- I began to think about a job at Disney. Maybe at Epcot Living with the Land or at Animal Kingdom doing research of some kind.
Has any worked there, or know anyone that has? I didn't do the intern program in college - didn't know they could do the science thing. That is all I can find information on. Currently there are no job postings on disneycareers.com so I am having trouble just getting basic info about what you would/could do and possible salary.

Watch around January/February. . . there will be TONS of AI's posted since the college program people will be recruiting. It's really the only way to get your foot in the door. I always see science/biology jobs posted for internships - mostly at AK.

Pay probably won't be that great. But I do remember seeing the science related AI's (advanced internships) being higher on the pay scale when compared to others. That doesn't mean much though - $11 an hour is high for AI's, LOL.

For info now, go to www.disneyalumni.com and check the forums. There's a section for general info and a section for alumni - but a lot of the alumni hang out on the forum for the general area to answer questions. You may have to wait days for a response, but it's probably the best way to track down someone who's done the internship you're looking at.

Most AIs are for college program alumni, but some (especially when specialized like a biology-related one) don't care, even though they may take preference of someone who's a CP alumni.

Disney posts any and all of their animal-related positions with the AZA. Currently, there are only professional internships listed there, but it never hurts to keep an eye out!
