Does anyone know if they have cars that seat only 2?Have been twice but always in the back and cannot remember all the car types or even being able to see them. And if they do can you request one at check-in I know we would have to wait for one and that is okay but hubby has never been to WDW and I want him to experience this but no way will he sit in a car with other people and he is also a big guy and would not be comfortable crammed into a car with strangers.TIA!

I believe all the cars there have 3 rows, each row for 2 people. You really don't know/don't feel like you are sitting with someone else since everyone is faced foward, you don't have to talk them, actually it would be hard to talk with them.
You can request to sit at a regular table, I'm not sure how many of those there are or if they have them for 2 people but to get the full experience, I would suggest just sitting in the car "with other people". The seats aren't small (since you said your DH is a big guy).

Each car row can hold two adults. You won't get a whole car to yourself, there will be other people in the other rows, but you aren't exactly close and can ignore them. There's a dashboard separating each row.

No, they don't have cars that seat only two.

Not sure as to your husband's objection. If there is a row in front of you, you are separated from those persons, and they have their backs to you. It is not like sharing a table.

I was wondering about this as well seeing as I have not been there in a while.

I can understand where your husband is coming from. I am the same way to a certain extent. I dont know if its the thought of someone staring at the back of my head or what (I always choose a seat in the back row at university). But from everyone's input, it seems like there is a lot of space between guests not to mention the movie playing, etc. So it doesnt seem like you will have to make forced conversation or whatever. It sounds a lot different than Biergarten's community tables!

I just thought there were some cars that were just the front ends with chairs and this is what I was referring to but I guess I was wrong oh well guess I will just have to take what I can get and hope hubby fits in the car in a multiple seating situation,he is 6'2 380 lbs wears a sz 4xl tall shirt and 48 waist pants just afraid it may be a tight squeeze and uncomfortable for him that is my concern. But I know he would really enjoy the atmosphere.

if he is 6'2" and nearly 400 pounds I am wondering if he will fit in the bench seats at all...my cousin was about that size and I'm not sure he would have fit. You can ask for a table, they have some tables. I know what you want is for him to be seated in a car. It's not like he would be sharing the bench with anyone but you, but his size may preclude that.

I'm trying to remember if they have some car shells with tables instead of benches.

1st trip was daughter(17) and I we sat in car with others no problem 2nd trip all womens trip 6 of us total all in one car and had no problem having conversations amongst all of us the entire time,so you are absolutely not far enough apart that someone in front or behind you cannot hear your conversation just thought I would let you know this info if it helps

I thought the previous poster was talking about you don't feel that you need to MAKE conversation with those sharing your car. You can if you want to but they aren't facing you or next to you, so you don't feel you HAVE to. However if what you or your husband are worried about is other people overhearing your conversation there are a number of restaurants with close-together tables where that could be an issue, like Le Cellier, Chefs de France and San Angel Inn just to name a few.

Thank You that is what I was referring to the car shells with tables would be a much better fit for him he would feel more comfortable and be able to enjoy the ambience I just wish someone knew if this is an actual seating option or not and how I could go about requesting it if they have it ahead of time.

All cars have 3 rows. We are always a party of 2, and we're always seated in the back row, behind a party of 4. I don't think the seating would be very comfortable for someone as tall/big as you say your husband is.

Oh no he wouldn't care about that he has never had an issue with someone hearing what he has to say lol but just be the fact that he is uncomfortable or has an issue with fitting in the car would be embarrassing for him and that would kill the experience that is what I was referring to and I just wanted to let the other poster to know that you can hear other people didn't want them to think their conversation would be private if that is what is expected.

We've only gone once to Sci-Fi. At the time my husband was 210 pounds and is 6 foot - he found the car boothes squishy

They do have tables with chairs that sit in car "shells". I don't know how many of them there are or if they would seat a party of 2 at one. It may depend on how busy the restaurant is and I'm sure they are used for wheelchair access so they might not be available.

There are also some round picnic like tables at the back of the restaurant. A CM once told me that they use those for walkups so with an ADR, one of those would probably be an option.

My son is 6'2" and probably weighs about 250. He hasn't had a problem in the bench seats.

I was also under the impression that the car tables were used for large parties, guests in wheelchairs who weren't ambulatory, or high chairs.

If he is too large to fit in the car benches, then you'll have to sit at a table, but I don't think you can request a certain type of table ahead of time. You'd need to put in your request when you got there, and if it's a dealbreaker that you may not get a car, then you need to consider that.

I also believe they would not seat you at a table with another party. So it would also be a question as to whether they would seat just a couple at one of the "car tables."

hi, you should have no problem requesting a table. :goodvibes
they have quite a few tables as you described-more than I think people realise. :thumbsup2
Theres lots of round tables near the back-although I wouldnt think theyd be suitable due to his size.
this was the table we had on our first visit, a few years ago.
It is for a party of 6 and we are a wheelchair party-so im sure they may not offer you one like this.

However this time, we were seated right at the back near the kitchen. It was a similar table but there is a split in the middle of the car.
It has 2 tables of 4, so im sure you would be able to sit there if you asked. The tables are fairly close but if you sit away from the middle you wont be too close.
I have a really bad picture from my recent trip-so wont post it, there are a couple more similar ones in the background.
hope that helps.xxx :goodvibes
