What's the show? wondering about taking young kids to it.

Its just clips from different movies running. There are also "commercials" scattered in here and there.

Atmosphere is great though. It is a little dark so if they don't like the dark then you might want to skip it. IMO it is really cool, and they have a killer chicken ceasar salad!!!!!

We love Sci Fi! The movie clips are so corny I don't think most of today's hardened kids would get too scared. I always notice when we are in there that the place is so quiet. Everyone is just transfixed watching that movie screen. I see a lot of very small kids but never hear any crying. A funny thing, we ate at Crystal Palace back in January and there was this horrid, annoying family next to us. Grandparents, siblings, their spouses and a bunch of kids. They were incredibly noisy the kids ran around screaming and at one point one of the moms just took Tigger, (who was signing our daughter's autograph book), by the arm and took him from our table back over to theirs. I know they were having fun but they were really annoying and some nice lady at another table walked over and asked if they were planning on leaving anytime soon. Well a couple of days later we walk into Sci Fi and guess what family from you know where is in several cars all around us? You guessed it! But this time those kids just sat there along with their obnoxious parents and never said a word. If Sci Fi can calm those folks down, it can make anybody well behaved and happy.

I want to do a meal at Sci Fi when we go--I know my kids will love it. Dh watches all those old B-movies with them on weekend afternoons and they think they are hysterical (even stuff that is supposed to be scary). I think it looks like fun.

Amyjo: It is a lot of fun! This is always our most relaxing and in many ways favorite meal. I have heard some people complain about the food but we always find the burgers and sandwiches top notch. If your husband and kids like those B-movies they will love this place. I can't think of a more unique atmosphere. Enjoy!!

Sci Fi is a family favorite! We all love old sci fi movies, and the old cartoon clips and commericials they show are a hoot. We also enjoy the drive-in theater theming. My guys were older the first time we went (ages 9 and 11) so I can't personally comment on how younger kids will like it, but it seems that all the kids in the cars around us are always having a good time when we go.

You'll read very mixed reviews on the food, but if you go at lunch and have burgers and shakes, you can't go wrong.

DS (9) loves this place! He makes DH & I sit in the "back seat" so that he can be in the driver's seat alone with his meal while watching the flicks. The light up ice cube drinks are really fun here as well because of the darkness. This isn't gourmet dining, but the atmosphere is neat.

It is great. One that I remember from both of our recent visits is a Tom and Jerry cartoon from the mid 60's. There's another cartoon from that era that they run too. Nothing scary, just your old B movies that we grew up with.

My daughter was just about to turn 2 when we took her last year. She was just fine, not scared at all and she's the sort who is terrified to watch Snow White/Nemo, etc. She was in the driver's seat and did stand up a few times and lean over the railing behind her to talk with me but we had the whole car so it wasn't a problem.

One thing to remember: it's dark and you can't always see very well. My daughter had mustard on her sandwich and ended up with it all over her pants but we couldn't even tell until we were back outside. Keep an eye on the condiments.
