Can you get into Sci Fi for lunch without a reservation? We will be there the first week of November.

What is the seating like? the size of the seats? Is it like sitting at a booth at a diner? We're large people and don't like some booths.

I don't need to know about the food. We're only going for DS9 and I've read that the burgers are okay.

Yes, you can get into SciFi without ADR's and without too much wait, especially in November. (OK, maybe not Thanksgiving week).

The car booths are about the size of a diner. You can request tables if they are available. This pic kinda shows the table seating to the right.

Sci-Fi always books up way out because it is unique. Every time (10 or more visits) we have been there they turn people away saying they are booked for the day. (This is all times of the year.)

While calling on my ADR date I booked Sci-Fi and the CM told me that this place is VERY popular, I called today to try to adjust my time and was told the same thing she even said it is the most popular rest in HS.......Good luck..............

Isn't the first week of November Jersey Week?

I would make ADRs and then you wouldn't have to stress about it.
With the online dining ADR system, there is no hassle and you don't have to pay for a long distance phone call.:)

After many unsuccessful attempts at getting same day ressies for Sci-Fi, we finally got to dine there in April. Even with ADR's we still had a 30 minute wait for a "car". ;)

The seating in the cars is bench style and holds 2 people comfortably. As mentioned already, there are some tables with regular chairs. :)

I was looking at Sci Fi for our trip in January. Can a party of 5 - 3kids and 2 adults sit in a car? or would they automatically put us at a table?

A few weeks ago we may have gotten lucky because we asked if ADRs were available (around lunchtime) and were told no but to check back. About an hour later it looked packed but we decided to ask anyway. We were seated in less than 5 minutes. I assumed it would be one of the patio type tables along the wall.

We were seated at a car that was longways (w/chairs) & shared a table with another family. It was still private and gave enough room for the four of us. Our DSs were thrilled.

It's not a restaurant where I would use a TS credit so we opted to pay OOP.

I would never go to Diz without adr's. If you know you want to eat there I book it :thumbsup2

I too cannot imagine going to Disney without ADRs. We had ADRs elsewhere that evening and thought we would use a counter service. The CS was chaotic nuts busy so we thought "what the heck" and got lucky with the Sci Fi having availability.

How do they usually seat a party of 3 (2a,1c)? I was hoping that myself, DH & DS could all sit in one row. Will they allow that? Also can you request the front row of a car when you check in at the podium? :goodvibes

We are a party of 3 - DH, DD7 and me. :)

We had the first two rows of a car - I sat in the front with DD and DH sat alone behind us. He wasn't bothered by that as he was hungry and was able to wolf down his meal without either of us two chatting to him.

We were joined by two "backseat drivers" and, to be honest, would never have known they were there if the parking attendant hadn't told us! :rotfl2:

We were near a car with a sideways table and regular chairs - there was a family of 8 seated there.

We're planning on eating at Sci-Fi for dinner when we're at WDW, and I've heard great things about the burgers.

However, when I was looking at the menu's on Disney's website the burgers are only available in the lunch menu and not the dinner - is this the case or can you still get burgers at dinner time?
