Sci Fi questions

I haven't been to Sci Fi, but would like to try during my upcoming trip. I have already been to 50s Primetime and Brown Derby. Gotta mark another restaurant off my must-eat list. I have the following questions.

1. What are the odds of getting a car? There is only going to be two of us.

2. On allearsnet menu, they have an Italian Grilled Chicken Sandwich listed, but on wdwinfo they show a bbq chicken sandwich instead. Has anyone been there lately and can tell me what they have currently? I just like to plan what I will be ordering.

Thanks!

You'll get a car. You will be seated in the same car as others because the cars seat 4 or 6. They'll just call you "hitchhikers" and put you with another party. I don't remember a BBQ chicken sandwich, so I would go with the Allears menu.

I am wondering this as well. DBF and I will be going there for lunch in a few weeks and would love to get a car spot.

My *guess* is it's the italian grilled chicken. That is what's posted on Allearsnet and that menu was updated more recently (11/07) than the one on WDWinfo (6/07). But someone who has been there more recently should confirm this.

I like to plan my meals ahead of time as well-I'm too indecisive otherwise!

I was told when I checked in that my ADR guaranteed me a car. I was then given the option of a regular (forward facing) car or the ones that are more like a a table (we were a party of 5- so forward means one person sits alone).

The grilled Italian chicken was on the menu two weeks ago when we ate there, but none of us had it so I can't say if it was any good or not. My son said the hamburger was great. There is also a roasted tofu on the menu that I didn't see on allears. That is what I had and it was excellent.

Thank you to everyone for your replies. I'm glad they have the Italian Chix wich...it sounds more yummier than the BBQ...I live in TX...I get all the bbq I need here. I also want to try either their choc sundae or one of their Oreo/Godiva Liquor shakes. When in Disney, you gotta live it up!

When we were there the cars were for the ppl who had ADRs. The few (very few- and then they started turning ppl away) walk-ins that they took while we were there were seated at the tables.
My DH had the Italian chicken Sandwich when we were there in mid-December, so I bet they still have it on their menu.
Have a great trip!

You will most definitely get a car, but will be seated with another couple most likely. This is not a big deal since they will have their back to you. Enjoy, this was one of my fav stops, but we unfortunately passed on it this year in favor of 50's cafe this year.

I have a question... for a very pregnant woman and her very "pooh sized" sister... are these cars roomy enough? Is the table able to be moved or collapsed within the car? If not, are they generously sized? Thanks! :goodvibes

I was 8 months pregnant when we were there once(and not small to begin with so you can imagine I was the size of a house.)
It was tight and no they can not move the table-but I fit.

They also have the "table cars" in the back- where it is a regular table with chairs and a fake car front if you are uncomfortable.

I sat in the "front seat" of a car with my two kids (ages 5&6 at the time). I felt a bit crowded. We are going again next week :cool1: and this time DH will be with us. I'm about 3 months pregnant and although I'm not showing much yet, I find that I need to move around to be comfortable. I plan to request a table with a car front rather than a booth style seat so we all have more room.

I had the BBQ chicken sandwich when we went in May. It was excellent. It is not on the dinner menu. The menus are quite different for lunch and dinner. We also love the vanilla milk shake and it is on the DDP. As pp stated, YOU WILL GET A CAR. But you will likely be seated with some else. No big deal. You won't even know you are there. You will be cozy next to each other. Likely in a car for 4.

As for the "big people" question.... I would request the "table" car. This table is also good for babies or small children that require a high chair. There is plenty of room. It looks like a car in the front and back. We also like it because you face each other. You can actually have a conversation (if you want). Down side is that you are not directly facing the movie screen. But we did not have a problem watching/seeing.

THANKS! :goodvibes You all were so quick to answer... we appreciate it! We will request the table car just to be on the safe (and comfortable) side!

The onion rings and the artichoke dip is very good but the oreo cookie milkshake is awesome!! We were 5 and I sat solo in the 3rd row which was fine!! The atmosphere is really cool and the service was GREAT!!
